Thursday 13- Things I've Been Up To This Week

*Yes this is yet another cheap shot at slamming you with random. My apologies yet again. Will you ever expect anything more from me? I hope not.*

1. The rain has been come and go all week, which has reaped havoc on my blahness. I could never live in Seattle. The rain woke the hubs and I both up at 2 this morning, it sounded like metal marbles hitting the house it was so loud. No hail was found, but a roof shingle flew off and was wedged into that crease where the windshield wipers are on my windshield.

2. I ate a Buffalo Burger for the first time ever; it was quite tasty, though I could tell the difference. I ate said burger at some famous steakhouse in downtown Big D where their steaks have been praised on Food Network. The best thing ever that I had at this restaurant was a banana pudding that was warm. I've never had anything like it and it was heavenly.

3. I cut my kid's hair, when I say cut I mean buzzed. I love that I start in on one kid and the hubs decides he needs to finish it and then start the next kid. Which works out for me because I am not qualified and the hubs is, with his 6 months of barber school. Though my plans blew up in my face with BB, I buzzed his sides and didn't finish the top thinking the hubs would finish. The hubs did not finish and he now looks like he has an over grown bur. Poor kid.

4. I'm reading a Thousand Splendid Suns finally. Good read so far. Never rely on Mondays to predict exactly what I'm going to read. I was trying to find another particular book but since BB was in a mood, I had to use stealth like SWAT team skills to get in and out and grab a book, this one just happened to be out in the open. You gotta do what you gotta do, all in the name of reading.

5. The swine flu is kind of freaking the hubs out. Me, I'm the no worries man it will soon pass kind of gal. Fort Worth closed down all of their schools, so did Richardson, all just out of concern since only one person in each of the areas has been effected. The hubs really thinks we should keep the kids out. The school left a message stating there are no reported cases in our county but they are keeping close contact with the health department. (I now shall get on my soap box)
I understand the concern. The thing is, more than 10,000 people died of just the normal flu last year. I guess I don't understand the hoopla for this flu when it's just a stronger maybe faster spreading strain, yet no concern for those who were sick last year. Of course our governor has declared our state a disaster or whatever you declare for a health crises, when NY has reported more people. Anyways.. moving on. I'll become concerned when more than 20 people in the DFW area alone are affected.

6. I got the weirdest anonymous comment about that Michelle Style review I did. Surely it wasn't one of you guys. Good to know I can stir up something in a random book review about the latest fashion of the first lady. I try to have no political opinion on this blog whatsoever. I'm the kind of person who really does not like to rock the boat when it comes to politics and therefor do not go there.

7. Would it be weird of me to do a mini pre school graduation for Bossy Boy? I want to put him in Game Boy's old graduation pre school gown and cap (yes I still have it cause I wasn't going to pay $20 for something only worn once)to do a little ceremony. Why yes I'm a cheeze ball and I realize that the hubs and his brothers could not care less. Maybe I just want to prove to them that I'm not just sitting around the house blogging eating bon bon's all day. That I am doing something. ahem.

8. My trip to get the meat caused more stress than it was worth. I got less than a mile to where I needed to be and Google steered me wrong on the directions. I turned left instead of right and ended up in the wrong part of town..possibly where that lone strain of swine flu was found. I did get our meat and had to scurry like never before to get back to get the boys in time. I ended up missing the highway I needed and wound up in downtown big D coming from Fort Worth and needed to be way North. I literally took an entire round trip tour through the entire DFW metroplex. I was exhausted and panicked as I was sure I'd be really late to get the boys. The hubs called the school for me and somehow my little mom mobile went in to jet mode and got me there in perfect timing.

9. This poor child of mine needs to get out and run around. I know he's going stir crazy in the house and he's driving me stir crazy with his random fighting pokemon games he's making me play.

10. Am I wearing you out already on the random? Of course I am, I shouldn't ask silly questions.

11. Are you anxious for another installment of Babysitting Adventures? Cause the sad thing is, my memory is shot and I can only come up with 2 more adventures.

12. I am contemplating doing the pay per post thing. My home girl Laurie is going to get me going. The thing is I don't want you guys to think the blog is going to the dogs and you'll jump ship on me. I've been tossing this around for a long time and I'm still not sure yet. If it's not this, than I will probably have to earn my keep around here somehow, like (gasp) going back to work..in this splendid economy. The meer thought makes me quiver in my boots, if I wore boots. I really want to go back to school and someone's gotta pay for it. Something tells me I'm to old to ask my parents to pay for my college.

13. Whew, I'm just glad to get that last little nugget off my chest.

Thursday 13- The Birthday List

Brace yourself for impact folks, this plane is about to dive head first into a month long droning of birthday festivity. The fasten your birthday belt sign has been turned on. You have been warned.

Friday is the sleep over party for Gameboy. I'm guessing it's a slumber party if it's a girl party or does it even matter? Here's the list for his party.

1. Clean the house- Why should I bother when I'm going to have a house so full of frat boys that it will be a wasted effort?

2. Grocery Store to purchase sleepover food must haves- M&M's for the popcorn is a must. Ice cream sundae provisions are also a must.

3. Rental store- I'm really tempted to get the cheesiest 80's movie I can find. I'm thinking Gremlins or Ghostbusters. Thank you 1980s!

4. Decorate- I did not go all out for this party at all. 10 year old boys don't need a theme, do they? Cheesy dollar store decor will do.

5. Prepare cupcake decor for his class cupcakes. I'm planning to do a whole post on this. I warned you. Sometimes I scare myself on my ingenious ideas.

6. Hope that the birthday boy's presents from E-bay arrive on time. Did I ever mention I'm cheap? If I can get exactly what he wants in good used condition for cheap, I'm on it.

7. Order Pizza

8. Purchase some wine..for me of course. Wait, I have a heavy arsenal of booze in the pantry. Something tells me I'm going to need it. Did I mention that I'm hosting this party alone, as in the hubs wont get into town until late that night?

9. Prepare some kind of sleeping arrangement, it might have to be the couches. These boys probably wont sleep anyway. I was thinking the floor but the dog may think we're making a bed for him and he may decide he wants to sleep with them. That might make things awkward.

10. Hope that it doesn't rain since one of the activities is outside.

11. Hope that these 2 boys show up. 2 is all I can take for my sanity, besides he has his brothers and they totally count as guests. That makes 5 boys total. Supposedly one of the boys wasn't sure if he could come because he has Dungeons and Dragons that night. WTF? What kid plays D&D at 10? Please lord tell me that his friends aren't future employees of the Geek Squad. Not that there's anything wrong with that...

12. Make sure the back yard is cleaned up of land mines.

13. Recover from the weekend and prepare to do this all over again in a couple of weeks.

Thursday 13- Favorite Facebook Apps & Groups

If you would have told me this time last year that I would be a Facebook junkie, I'd say psshaw it can't possibly be the same as that space that is mine. Now I'm hooked and I haven't even logged into that other place in months.
Because I have nothing better to talk about I figure why not mention my favorite Facebook apps. Cause I know your dying to know.
Oh and thank you Facebook for re considering your latest policies about what's yours and what's mine.

1. The Flair- I don't know what it is but I could sit and browse through the latest flair for hours..maybe not hours but for quite a long time. I love to be sent flair. Sadly I send flair to myself more than anything. I'm not sure what that says about me.

2. Willy's Sweet Shop. For some reason my friends seem to overwhelm me with the sweet shop goodies. Who doesn't like to receive chocolate and candy, when it's calorie free?

3. Path Words- I have a love hate relationship with Path Words. I'm not that great at it, but gosh dang it, I have to beat my top score of 610 and move up in the ranks sometime this century. So far I haven't even come close.

4. Gotta mention Super Poke.

5. Classic OKC stuff- It's been fun getting random icons of OKC as gifts.

6. Of course those sweet peeps who send me Twilight gifts rock.

7. I love the Blue Cove fish.

8 Dr Pepper Group- I don't think I need say anything else.

9. I like the People You May Know feature but I'm always hesitant to actually friend some of them. Just because I know them, doesn't mean I know them. You know?

10. I just started the Farm Town app. I like it better than the zombie wars, snow man armies and all those that you have to recruit people to be part of you minion. I'm just not a leader kind of gal. I don't like to bug people to follow my cult.

11. Passive Aggressive group. If you haven't seen their blog it's basically like Post Secret but it has people who have written passive aggressive notes to get a point across in e-mail or in a form of a note. They are hilarious.

12. Scramble is one of my favorite games. I actually like it more than Path Words. Maybe because I'm better at it but in reality not really.

13. I am a sucker for good causes. Feeding kids in Africa or breast cancer awareness. If all I have to do is play with their app and send some stuff to people, and someone will send money to help, than I'm all for it.

If you want to friend me on Facebook shoot me an e-mail...I'm sure you have it. :)

Thursday 13-Why?

A few thoughts I've been pondering...

1. Why does a family size box of cereal only lasts a few days?

2. Why does my entire house suddenly look like the kid's play room?

3. Why does a hot shower feel so dang good, yet I never want to stay in to shave, unless I really have to?

4. Why does my husband get crazy notions in his head to rearrange furniture, when he knows darn good and well that he'll get half way through and not finish; leaving me to finish the job?

5. Why is it that I can do 3-4 loads of laundry a day and still barely make a dent in the laundry pile?

6. Why is it that the minute I finish cleaning and scrubbing down the bathroom, it never fails, I then have the urge to go?

7. Why is it that when I put the trash out before 7am; the trash man doesn't come until 9 or 10am, yet the one week I'm late getting it out, they come right at 7?

8. Why does my mother think that the weather is to blame for any technological problem? Such as the battery on her cell phone dying faster than normal, must be due to the cold weather.

9. Why does Wonderboy the crazed Veggie Tale fan, have a complete anxiety attack when the Where Is My Hairbrush song come on?

10. Why does the hubs get ticked at the dog for being on the couch now, when he used to let the dog get on the couch all the time when he worked from home?

(Can you tell I'm running out of Whys?)

11. Why do people get in a hurry in the school pick up lane and want to go around the line? Don't they know they aren't going anywhere until the crossing guard allows for traffic to go ahead and move?

12. Why is it that the very day I vacuum the floors, hubs comes home and mentions that it looks like the floors need vacuuming? Am I allowed to beat him with a wet noodle for that or not even bother to vacuum at all?

13. Why is it that the grass on the lawn is dead as a door nail right now but the weeds are growing like crazy?

Thursday 13- Cartoon Quotes

My boys made up a game of guessing who says what quote from random cartoons and movies. This is just the top 13. Their quotes come up in normal conversation every day.

1.Better out than in I always say. Shrek - Anytime someone burps in this house, this is what is followed. This is the number 1 quote in our house.

2. Scooby Doo Where Are You? Shaggy- I've mentioned before that Wonderboy wants to either be Shaggy or a Jedi when he grows up. He practices daily on Shaggy's run..cause Shaggy has a special way about his run and he has to yell this constantly.

3. radda radda radda radda. Snitzel from Chowder. -I've seen this show a couple of times and it is mildly disturbing but Snitzel cracks me up.

4. Bah Yie Yie yie- Sponge Bob -Gotta have some Sponge Bob quotes going. They actually practice his laugh.

5. Sweet Beans And A Basket!- Mongal Chowder This is something you exclaim when something exciting or crazy happens. The boys timing on their quotes is hysterical if anything else.

6. Your like a strange armadillo. – Sandy from Sponge Bob -If I could be any cartoon character I would want to be Sandy. She's a Texas gal and she kicks butt and takes names.

7. How long is this going to take? Julian from Madagascar -This is Bossy Boys favorite quote. It's really really embarrassing when he says this very loud during a Catholic funeral.

8. Holy Pit Fall! Robin from Scooby Doo -This is another fave of BB. He just thinks it's hilarious seeing Robin falling down this pit and has to play it over and over.

9. Zoinks!- Shaggy -Wonder Boy's favorite quote..can't imagine why.

10. We Get There When We Get There- Mr Incredible -Yeah, I use this one a lot.

11. Sounds like a lotta hoopla to me! Spongebob -Another favorite quote from BB. Cracks me up everytime he says it.

12. You Don’t Know The Power of The Dark Side- Darth Vader -Can't close this out without something from Star Wars. It just wouldn't be natural.

13. Snakes, why does it have to be snakes? -Indiana Jones -Insert any other fear causing noun such as: Baths, why does it have to be baths? or Dog poop, why does it have to be dog poop? and the ever popular, Homework, why does it have to be homework? This is all three of the boys favorite quote.

Thursday 13- Random Christmas Memories

I've been trying to rack my brain on a good T13 post today. I thought of doing 13 of my fave ornaments and knew you guys were probably sick of seeing my tree. I then thought of making my own Santa list and just sounded to gluttonous. 13 Christmas memories it is. Hopefully I can think of 13.

1. One of the earliest Christmas memories I have is of my aunt coming to my parents house in her full length black fur coat and bringing me a toy sewing machine. The coat always stands out to me. She had that coat forever and when she finally stopped wearing it, it just didn't seem the same.

2. When I was 4 or 5 and really understanding the Santa thing, I remember waking up Christmas morning and being to afraid to get out of bed. I thought that Santa was still there and I would get in trouble for getting up. My parents finally had to come in and get me up.

3. Midnight Mass at midnight like it should be, even though 6pm is so much more convenient.

4. I remember getting my ten speed bike and a whole bunch of other presents. I think that was one of the top notch Christmas' we had. That was at the point where I questioned Santa. Somehow it got re jump started as there was some mystery wrapping paper under the tree. Yes I was quite the snoop.

5. I have no recollection of which exact Christmas I got my first Cabbage Patch.

6. The first couple of years hubs and I were married we didn't even have a tree, even with Gameboy's first Christmas. We just didn't make it a top priority at the time.

7. My MIL actually bought us our first live tree and ornaments to go with it on Christmas eve. That was the first year we started our yearly last minute shopping expeditions.

8. I can remember my pre-school Christmas play. Each kid did a letter from the alphabet about Christmas. Mine was the letter T - T is for the three wise men who traveled very far. Funny how I can remember that but not to get the clothes in the dryer until several hours later.

9. I was the biggest snoop ever once I got around 12-13 and would find my presents every year from then on. Mom was never fast enough to get them wrapped before I would find them.

10. One year my sister neighbor brought me over a present (Operation) and my mom had also gotten the same game. My mom had left to run an errand and told me I could open a present when she got back. She didn't know L had gotten the same present at the time since I unwrapped L's after my mom left. Because the torture was killing me, we ever so slightly unwrapped the present to take a peek. Sure enough it was the same present. We wrapped it back and when she got home and saw that L got the same gift, she wouldn't let me open it. I of course had to give my Oscar performance and wonder why I couldn't open the gift. Knowing exactly why she didn't want me to open it.

11. Christmas Eve was always held at my grandma's house. Since I was one of the last and youngest of the cousins, I was pretty spoiled until the second cousins came along.

12. One year when I was around 12-13, I was asked to house and dog sit for the neighbors. It had snowed pretty good that night and I had to go that morning (after presents of course) down the hill to their house to let the dog out. When I left to go back up the hill to the house, I kept sliding down. I could not get any traction for the life of me, to get back up the hill. It wasn't a very big hill but big enough. I think it took me a good 30 minutes to get back up the hill crawling on my belly while grabbing sticks or anything to help me up. I was so mad at my mom for not coming out to check on me since it had taken so long. She just thought that I was taking my time to let the dog out.

13. You may remember yesterday that hubs had to take a visit to Wally World to fix his tire? Well, Scrooge got in the Christmas spirit and grabbed some ikebays for all three boys. This in itself is a Christmas miracle. Hubs has always been anti -ikebay- as our old neighborhood was not very safe for ikebay riding. He's also just paranoid. Neither one of my boys know how to ride. I know, it's sad. This is one thing I've hounded him to get them since they could walk. They finally have an awesome place to ride (sidewalks line the whole neighborhood) and there is no excuse now for them not to have one. I'm ecstatic and it's probably the best Christmas present ever, that the boys will receive. They've never even asked for one so I think they'll be really surprised.
It's a good thing they don't read the blog right?

Thursday 13- My Favorite Things

This is a total knock off of Oprah's favorite things. I only wish I could give away all my faithful readers my favorite things. Maybe someday when I win the lottery. HA!

I also want to say that I am the plainest plainest Jane there is and am not a pamper me products, spend lots of money on me kind of gal. So what little I do have I love and am grateful for and I probably got it dirt cheap.

1. My home pedicure kits. I've won both of my kits in giveaways. Could be why I love them so. This may come to a shock to some of you, but I have never had an actual pedicure done. I've only done them on my own. I'm sure I'm missing out on the awesomeness that is someone else pampering your feet. I just can't see myself going to one alone. I'm weird that way.

2. My Nic's Sticks nail polish. This thing is awesome and the only way I will paint my toe nails now. Oprah even mentioned it on her show once. I was thrilled to know that I actually owned something Oprah mentioned. .

3. I was digging through my lotions to see what I have left. Don't you guys get like a mountain of bathing lotion stuff from that B&B place for gifts? Don't get me wrong I love it, it just always seems like the easy go to gift along with the gift card. As I was saying, I found Japanese Cherry from the BB place and Yum love it. It's my new fave scent now. Is it wrong that I'm just now opening a lotion that was given to me last Christmas? It's probably discontinued now.

4. My new hand held mixer that has a stand. This is the closest I'm going to get to an actual expensive mixer and I love it. Maybe it's because my other hand mixers were 20 plus years old and on their last leg. Hence why I had to get a new one as I burned both of the old ones out.

5. My camera is of course my constant companion. Though it is bulky and somewhat complex I love it.

6. My laptop is also my other constant companion. This was the hubs laptop before big Bertha died and at first I detested this one. Not sure why, maybe because it didn't have several years worth of pictures on it. It's light, compact, and we seem to get along.

7. If we're going all techie here, than I have to mention the Wii. It was a birthday present to myself and though the boys took over for the most part, I still consider it mine.

8. I love Philosophy beauty products. I've only gotten a couple of items, all from that place on TV where you can shop at home. (I am a junkie and its the only time I can really "shop" and splurge for me and not have to drag a bunch of boys along plus I can watch it live online.) Hope In a Jar so far is my fave. I only dream of having more.

9. I also love my Philosophy Kiss Me lip balm.

10. Vic's Secret undies. There's just something about them that I love. Maybe it's because they don't ride up. Another thing I must mention is a bra that fits. It makes all the difference in the world.

11. My Jersey cotton sheets which I also got from that channel that is all shopping all the time. Love those sheets. If I can't afford luxury than give me comfy and cheap.

12. My mini mp3 player. Hubs let me have an early Christmas present while we were out on Black Friday. It's not the pod variety but it's a tiny 4gig mp3 player and I love it and it was only $40 bucks. 1gig of the pod variety was almost $80.00 I just couldn't see spending that much when I got something just as good that holds 4 times as much.

13. My new dressy sandal shoes. I got them theoretically free and their adorable. We spent mucho dinero at Kohls on Friday and they were doing the Kohls bucks when you spend so much they give you so much back in Kohls dollars. The kicker was you couldn't spend it on that trip, you had to come back. So this week I searched our good sized town neighbor and found Kohls which makes me happy cause this momma really needs her Kohls, it too is one of my favorite things.

13.

Thursday 13-I'm What You'd Call An Expert

I have watched so many variations of Scooby Doo DVDs that I believe I have become an expert and really that's a sad thing to admit on so many levels. I give you 13 points and quotes from Scooby Batman and Robin.
I have watched the Scooby Doo meets Batman and Robin episodes way to many times and noticed a few things that are driving me ape sticks crazy.

1. First of all did you know that Shaggy's voice is played by Casey Kasum, (you know the billboard top 50's radio guy) at least he did back in Scooby's prime.

2. The Joker and Penguin try to scare the "kids" out of their fun house as ghosts. This is where I want to punch Velma in the face as she is supposed to be the smart one.
Daphne: "Velma we know those aren't real ghosts don't we?"
Velma: "Yeeeesss" (with trepidation in her voice)
Daphne: "But just in case they are real, we should probably make a run for it right?"
Velma: "Yes!" (off they run like banshees dragging Fred along)
At least Fred tried to talk reason into those scaredie cats not to run, but was dragged anyway.

3.The kids are in a cave and Joker activated a mechanical bat.
Daphne and Fred start to freak about the bat. Velma trying to remain calm told them that it should be ok, it wont bother us. Daphne replies, "it wont bother us if we get out of here." The kids run except Velma.
I was almost going to give Velma the benefit of the doubt and then she said: "I may not believe in ghosts, but I certainly believe in bats!" and off she ran.
Why did you run earlier in the show when you saw the ghost Velma? Answer me that.

4. The laugh track. Why do they need to insert random laughter in parts that aren't even funny?

5. Shaggy really needs to control his snacking habits. It's kind of rude to bum a snack from the Caped Crusader himself, in the middle of a forest.

6. In one episode they hear a dog barking and Batman asks if they can please quiet down the dog (Scooby). Have you ever heard Scooby bark.. ever? They even put a muzzle on poor Scooby to shut him up and that's when they realized it wasn't Scooby.

A few of my favorite lines:
7. Robin: We'll get to the bottom of it, by getting to the top of it.

8. Robin: Holy Hot Goblins that looks like the Joker and Penguin!

9. Batman: The Cape Crusader always puts top priority for a boy and his dog.

10. Robin: Holy Egg Beaters! The batcopter is gone!

11. Fred offers Batman a lift since the batcopter is gone.
Batman responds: "Thank you kids, by giving us this lift, your giving a lift to every law abiding citizen in the world." Wow who knew the fate of the world laid on the shoulders of a hippie mobile?

12. Shaggy: Jeepers Scoob it's bad enough when your hungry, but when your hungry and scared that is the worst!
Scooby then proceeds to run to a pile of tires and start eating them. Don't they feed that dog anything else but Scooby snacks? I won't go into theories as why these guys are hungry all the time. I will ponder why the kids are never as hungry.. Obviously they aren't on the wacky tabacky, but why would such good kids let their friend and dog engage in such behavior? I just said I wasn't going to go there didn't I? Sorry.

13. Scooby is actually smarter than you think. He's on to Shaggy and his schemes to get Scooby to do things he doesn't want to. You notice Scoobys always the one to capture the bad guys and save the day. It's because Scooby is the smart one of the bunch. He's just playing off of Shaggie's fears, he's really not that scared.

Why yes I was totally watching Scooby for the 517th time, which gave me an idea for this post. Why do you ask?

Thursday 13- Reasons Why I Love The Dollar Tree

I'm up way past my bedtime and have something on my mind..that I can't or don't want to blog about right now. I need to think about something else and that something else, is my love for the Dollar Tree.

1. They really have cute Christmas decor. (At least mine in New Town Tx does) I could do a whole new Christmas theme for around $10 bucks. Not that I would, but I could.

2. Love their plethora of wrapping paper and gift bags. Christmas and Non- Christmas. They are just as cute, if not cuter than that $2.99 bag at Wally World.

3. That I felt right at home with my other SAHM sisters toting their non school aged children around, on a Wednesday, in the middle of the day. I was shocked how busy it was.

4. Their school supply/craft aisle sends my heart all a flutter.

5. I can easily guesstimate and budget how much I've spent by simply counting the number of items in my basket. Around 17-18 items will be about 20 bucks..you gotta count the tax. If I had that many items in Wally World it would be about 40. We won't talk about Tar Jay, cause I love me some Tar Jay and can easily go crazy in there, but 20 items would be almost a grocery bill.

6. I can splurge on something that I would never ever buy and not feel too guilty or silly about buying it.

7. Christmas reindeer antlers for your dog. See response above.

8. That I can giggle out loud while shopping and not feel bad, because Rhinestone Cowboy is playing through out the store.

9. It amazes me that you can buy reading glasses for a buck. Do they really work?

10. They have perfect stocking stuffers and Christmas class party supply items and cute storage container items for baked goods for Christmas gifts. I could go on and on about the Christmas stuff.

11. I have a new reward incentive for Bossyboy. He has discovered this marvel that is the Dollar Tree.

12. When the lady checking me out asked if I had found everything I needed ok; I didn't have the heart to tell her that I didn't come really needing anything, though I did leave with a few bags of stuff. Obviously I felt I needed something.

13. Where else can I go and get a pajama (at least I'm assuming it's pajama) cami top that says Drama Queen in rhinestone lettering for a dollar, panties to if I wanted? These particular items were not in the budget today.

Thursday 13-Bossy Boyismss

I've been home all day with BossyBoy(4) for about a month now. We've had some interesting conversations and he has a funny way of saying things. I wanted to keep a running list of his gems. This is a compiled list from the last few weeks.

1. He calls the remote control the "promote control".

2. The other day he told me his elbow was hungry.

3. He mentioned that he can't talk while throwing up and that he plans to throw up again tomorrow. Two or three days after moving in, he got sick to his stomach for the first time since he was a baby. He's now obsessed with the throw up thing. He was miserable when it happened, but now that he's better, he has to talk about it all the time. I guess it's a male bragging rights thing.

4. Could you get these flees out of here? He's referring to the flies.

5. Are You My Mudder? We've been reading Are You My Mother and he says Mudder. It just melts my heart.

6. How do you spell Butt Monkeys? ...ahem... I have to clarify this. Gameboy is really into the fantasy football. One of the guys team name is the Butt Monkeys. Bossyboy loves to be involved with anything that big brother is into. This includes fantasy football and the team names.

7. We were sitting at the bank waiting our turn when there was absolutely no one else in the bank..but that's not the point. Bossyboy was acting silly. I told him he was acting silly and he said, "no, I'm John Wayne." Well alrighty then pardner.

8. According to Wonderboy, today, his Build A Bear Tom Tom is having a birthday. BossyBoy asked; "How can Tom Tom have a birthday, if he doesn't have any hands?"

If you think about it, it is kind of a logical question.

9. We were sharing M&M's and he gave a me a green one and told me it's "lime flavored chocolate". Yum!

10. When I tell him what the plans are for the day, he always has to ask; "then what?" or he'll say; "if we do such and such, what?" or another "if you jump off of a cliff, then what?"

11. I mentioned the Google search of C's and how he called it "junk mail".

12. This morning as he was putting his shoes on to go outside to play with the dog he said; "Everybody will like my shoes, except for Nobody." He's every bit of random in his thinking as I am.

13. The grand finale of Bossy'isms. I've been working on this for weeks..can you tell I have nothing better to do?
This is Bossyboys thespian debut. Him and his brothers are masters at quoting dialogue from movies. Scooby has been going non stop in this house and here is a snippet of some Scooby dialogue. I'm sorry it's not part of the movie where Scooby says "Scooby doo!"

(The new fad these days is to wear peanut butter on your cheek, all the best actors are doing it these days.)

Thursday 13- Science Fair Project Ideas

One thing I hated to do during middle school was science fair projects. I loved the doing it of it but my projects were always lame.
This is Gameboy's first science fair, in a way I'm dreading it and on the other hand; the control freak in me knows, I so want to take this over and kick some science fair bootie.
He came home with a list of 200 project ideas sure to "wow the judges". Some of these projects were so out there for a 4th graders concept that you know that a control freak parent was involved. Here's a listing of some ideas that I know I would have never thought about in 4th grade.

1. Does the surface of a tennis court affect the height that a tennis ball bounces? -Uhm ok. Does a 4th grader really think this way?

2. Does the length of a clocks pendulum affect its period? -I honestly didn't know clocks had a ahem... period.

3. How does the speed of a rivers current affect the size of the grains on the riverbed? -How does one experiment with this kind of test?

4. What difference do low-phosphorous fertilizers have on a lakes pollution levels compared with standard fertilizers? -I don't make this stuff up..I couldn't if I tried.

5. How does the type of string used in a can and string phone affect the phones ability to transmit sound? -Kids these days should not even know what a can and string phone is.

The rest of these are actually good ideas that actually helped "us" come up with a decent project idea that a normal 4th grader would think up.

6. How old does chewed gum have to be before it stops sticking to shoes? -This one sounds exactly like something Gameboy would ask. From my experience, I've stepped in some pretty old gum and it still stuck.

7. Does triple roll toilet paper rolls really last three times as long as regular rolls? -In our house it's probably the opposite..the more there is, the more you use.

8. Do gym shoes have more bacteria than sandals?

9. Which do people prefer: a booth or a table in a restaurant? -I prefer a booth myself if it's just hubs and I. It feels more personal and your more out of the way.

10. Does listening to rock music make you eat faster than listening to classical music? -Inquiring minds want to know..

11. Which toothbrushes last longer: ones with natural or nylon bristles? -I really wish I had the Internets and this list in middle school.

12. Does your handedness have any relation to which eye is stronger? -I'm a lefty myself..I'm in my right mind.

13. I'll leave you with Gameboy's idea for a science project.
He wanted his to do with a cookie recipe and whether a person could really tell the difference if a minor ingredient was left out. He thought of the "cookie idea" and I guided him on the recipe part and gave him the recipe. He decided we should bake a batch without salt and another batch without vanilla. We will then of course bake a normal batch to compare. Looks like we'll be cookie making fools. The blogger in me is all over this to blog on progress.

Thursday 13-Observances From The Past Two Weeks

I've noticed a few interesting things since living in suburbia. Thought I'd jot them down and hopefully come up with 13.

1. The instant we got the new phone number hooked up we have been inundated with sales calls for alarm systems. I'm not talking one or two calls, more like 3 or 4 a day. They start out with "Hi welcome to the neighborhood. Can we come out and do an estimate on your house and provide you with cheap alarm service? Did you know it will save you on your home owners insurance?"Sorry Jack we already have an alarm. Makes you wonder if we moved to a bad neighborhood.

2. Today was a new sales call,"Hi welcome to the neighborhood. If your new house needs carpet cleaning or carpet stretching we're the peeps for you." Uhm..maybe I'm new to the whole "new house business" but isn't it most likely your new house comes with nice clean stretched carpet? The house isn't new per say..but the carpet is awesomely clean. How long that lasts is yet to be seen.

3. For some strange reason, I'm overly paranoid about the trash. (I covered this earlier..I know)

4. The library was a bit of a disappointment. I never visited the Tyler library for this same reason. The library is housed in the very nice town administration building. Looks can be deceiving. It's located in a very smallish office building..for a library I like lots of space to spread out and feel comfy and lots of books that are fairly recent. I've never felt so packed like a sardine as I did in this one. It was kind of funny cause the librarian gave me the "tour" just standing at her desk. This shelf, adult fiction. This shelf non fiction. These two shelves tween. These two shelves childrens. I realize that the library is never at the top of the food chain when it comes to the town finances. My smallish hometown in Oklahoma has an awesome library the old was nice and the new one is even better. I just don't get it. Maybe I'll check out the next town overs library and see if they are any better.

5. My mail person must somehow be incompetent or illiterate. I have yet to receive any mail that is actually ours. House number 1713 is no where near 1821. Yes, I did fill out all of the forwarding information. You'd think after two weeks, it would get here. I'm a wee bit concerned.

6. The pick up system for this school is very impressively organized. I expected to sit in carpool forever, but it really wasn't so bad and the teachers get things going really fast with the whole car tag number for the riders. I guess in hillbilly country they don't think about things like pick up organization. They just throw them all out in front and hope for the best that they are picked up by the right person. It's not that bad, but there was no organization at Gameboy's old school.

7. We live .8 miles from the school, easy walking distance for the boys. My boys get a little spaced out at times and they probably wouldn't get home til dark. Yeah, I'm probably over paranoid. For now I pick up. When the weather turns really nice..like say spring, Bossyboy and I will walk to the school to get them.

8. They could ride the bus...but supposedly if you live less than 2 miles from the school, the bus charges . Yeah, thanks but no thanks. If I'm that desperate, then they can walk.

9. While filling out paper work for school; the hardest part for me is the contact info section. Pretty much if the school can't get a hold of you or your spouse who can they contact? If they can't get a hold of either me or hubs at my cell, home phone, his cell, his work phone than we've both died. Is it wrong that I did put my parents in OK down but still put my phone and the hubs phone as back up?

10. The next section of paper work is the section on who to contact other than the parents when there's barely a hint of snow/ice outside and we decide to cancel school for the rest of the day. In bold letters it stated LOCAL CONTACTS. In other words we want to get the heck out of dodge and the grandparents living in OK will not work. Again, if I can't be reached than something is urgently wrong or when you call , caller ID is showing as Unknown.

11. I do realize that we are in the northern part of Texas. This means we WILL get all the snow from Oklahoma. It's not very comforting when the former owner/landlord left us the snow shovel. Much obliged though! The boys are excited about the snow concept.

12. One thing I have really noticed is that the wind does come sweeping down the plains here. There are no trees whatsoever in suburbia land, which hubs says why we get all the wind. I'm sure they were all chopped down to build houses. I take that back, there are trees here. They are all young saplings grown by each homeowner, it's not the same as a good East Texas pine tree though. :(

13. So far I haven't received a welcoming committee knocking on my door. No one bringing cookies or stopping to say hello. Everyone seems to pretty much keep to their self and shut away locked up with their alarms on. Although if an ambulance stops right outside a neighbor's door, EVERYONE comes out to check on things. I'm ok with the no welcome rings right now. I'm still trying to get my bearings.

I do apologize that this list sounds like a list of complaints. That was not my intent, I guess you could say I'm still trying to adjust and just feel out of my league.
That pretty much covers it. I'm sure it's way more than you ever cared to know about my first experiences in suburbia.

Thursday 13- Random Brain Dump

1. This will be my last post until at least Monday. I know your disappointed that it's a T13. Thanks for all your best wishes on this move. I know everything will be fine. I just hate the overwhelmingness of it all and that I've done most of this packing stuff on my own. At least hubs did do the hard part and decide on the house.

2. I've got so many check lists and re check lists in my little moving notebook that I don't know if I'm coming or going.

3. I never realized the stringent ordinances of housing associations. I take that back I did..I just never realized how specifically stringent. They require you to use a specific electric company. SrSly? This will definitely be a eye opener.

4. My biggest fear is that my neighborhood will be a bunch of stuck up soccer SAHMs and that I won't fit in at all. Typical new neighbor jitters. I'm used to living in the white trash ghetto where the frat boys have their parties on random Wednesday nights and it's "no big deal". This new neighborhood would probably get their panties in a major wad if you have more than 4 cars parked in the driveway.

5. My parents are coming tomorrow, which I'm totally relieved to get a little assistance.

6. Today I've just sat and stared in overwhelmth (yes it's a word in WM247 world) wondering, what the heck I should pack now? This has been a challenge as I still have to "live" and if I pack to much and then need it, it becomes a pain in the butt. I had planned to make spaghetti for dinner the other night. Not realizing that I had packed the essential giant pot to boil the noodles. A small pot in my mind just would not work. So I used Ramen Noodles and cooked them in the microwave. Spaghetti sauce and Ramen is interesting to say the least. The boys loved it though.

7. I'm going to try to wait til the very very last minute to pack up the computer(s) yes more than one. Parting is such sweet sorrow.

8. I'm kicking myself for not posting ads on Craigslist sooner. I probably could have easily sold a bunch of stuff just there, instead of just giving it to good will. The best thing is it's free to post an ad. I've told you of my love for Craig before, this just sealed the deal.

9. My parents are taking my cat as one pet is really enough for us. I'm a little sad about that, but I think he'll enjoy exploring their place. He may not like the fact that he'll have to bunk in the garage. We'll see how it goes.

10. I was able to fill out a voter registration form for change of address. The plan is to get it mailed out tomorrow just in time before cut off. I assume I'll need to update my driver's license before then too. Most likely it wouldn't fly to well to try and vote with a different license address. I've never updated my license within a month of moving. Call me crazy. The funny thing is that every time I do finally update my license we move within 3-6 months of the change.

11. Here may be a little shocking news for you guys. We decided to go ahead and let the boys do public school, instead of me homeschooling. I will "home school" BossyBoy. I honestly think that's all I could handle. There was lots of weighty issues to decide. We finally put it back on the boys and they decided they wanted to go to public school. I'll post more on our decision later.

12. On that last note. I'm planning on getting an online degree. I know it's probably cheesy to do one of those but I figure it can't hurt and I'm really hoping to use this to my advantage to work from home.

13. I just wanted to also share with you my mini joy, cause I know you guys understand that it's the little things that make you do a jig. I got a post card from our lovely water/sewage/trash dudes saying that bulk trash pick up would be on Monday. These things only happen every quarter, and I have lots o trash to get rid of. Sssh don't tell the hubs the crap I plan to throw away. A box full of old printers comes to mind.

Thursday 13-Things I've Never Done

I got to thinking the other day on the odd things that I have never done that the average person probably has done and never really thought twice about it. Here's a random list of things I've done and just recently did, things I just never have done, and things I never will do ever ever. At least I'm not mentioning anything about packing or house hunting.

1. I've never checked into a hotel/motel by myself. Hubs has always been the one to check in. I finally did this, this past Friday. Hence where this post idea came from. I realize that it's the minuscule things that amuse me and also I realize the fact that I don't get out much on my own.

2. I've never bought booze by myself at the liquor store. I of course have bought me a drink at the bar/restaurant but never actually went to a liquor store to purchase it by myself. I think a lot of this has to do with the fact we live in a dry county and the closest L. store is a good 30 miles away.

3. I've never tried a puff on a cigarette ever; even in my most intoxicated state and everyone around me smoking and offering a smoke. I've always refused. We won't get into my odd short comings when it comes to peer pressure or my stupidity as a youth.

4. Going along with number 3, I also have never purchased cigarettes even if it were to be for someone else. Not gonna do it.

5. I've never had a car payment. I know, odd. My cars have always either been graciously given to me, cause my parents spoiled me rotten or we have always paid cash for our vehicles. Honestly, the thought of a car payment makes me ill.

6. I've never had a Krispy Kreme donut straight from the donut shop, where it is supposedly the best time to get one, when it's nice and hot. They still taste pretty darn good, even second hand from Wally World. Now I'm craving donuts.

7. I've never been able to do a cartwheel. I can remember practicing and practicing for days and days and just never could get my legs to straighten out. The funny thing about this, is my old office had a long hallway from one end to the other and I always had this crazy urge to just do cartwheels all the way down. How crazy would I look "trying" to do a cartwheel? I did encourage another co-worker to skip down the hallway with me once. Close enough I guess.

8. I've never skied of any kind. Snow ski or water ski. It just never was anything I desired to do.

9. I've never broken a bone. Knock on wood, it's amazing as klutzy as I am.

10. I've never ridden on a motorcycle. 4 wheeler yes, but that doesn't count.

11. I've never been a brides maid. My closest friend eloped and the others we were either out of touch or to far out of town.

12. Here's an odd one. I've never won a trophy for anything. Probably because the only organized sport I did play..I sucked at it. Tennis anyone?

13. Finally. I've never gotten a ticket. Again knocking on wood. I've come so freaking close it's not even funny. Once the cop made a full U turn and came up straight behind to pull me over while I was sitting at a red light. I knew I was going to be nailed for an out dated sticker. The odd thing was he never turned on his lights when he came up behind me. Before the light changed, he must have gotten another call, because he pulled out and turned back where he came.

Thursday 13-Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!

Today is my parent's 38th wedding anniversary. I know it's "That" day. Sad Huh?

So here are 13 random things about my parents.

1. Before Matchdotcom and EHarmony were even invented, was the age of newspaper classifieds. The trend of the late 60's and 70's. My parents met through a singles ad in the classifieds.

2. My dad and hubs are scarily similar in odd ways. I can't say that's the reason I married hubs as the similarities were unbeknownst to me. After just a few dates with my mom, my dad proposed and proposed and proposed until she finally said yes. If my memory serves me right he whipped out the engagement ring (his dads mothers or something) and proposed in the car. C did the exact same thing. Proposed over and over pretty much in a joking way,,and then seriously proposed with a ring while we were driving in the car.

3. While dating, my mother offered dad to come over for breakfast. Mom lacked confidence in her breakfast skillz and had her ex-nun roommate make the breakfast and she played it off like she fixed it.

4. On the way to Lake Texohoma for mom and dads honeymoon, they had to make 4 turn around trips back to OKC. The first time they totally forgot to pack the suitcases. The second, third and fourth time I'm unclear on. I want to say it had something to do with the keys to the cabin they forgot, and some other stuff they forgot. I'm going to have to get clarification on what was so important. It makes for a better story.

5. Before fertility testing and treatment, there was the old just keep trying treatment. Finally after 7 years of marriage I finally arrived on mom's birthday.

6. My dad still to this day never forgets to send mom roses on her birthday, anniversary and mother's day. Mom says she's admitted to forgetting their anniversary, yet easily gets reminded when the roses get sent.

7. When Sept 11th happened my parents didn't even know it had all happened until way later in the day. Being down about what happened on their anniversary, they went to their favorite eating place for dinner. There was not a single other soul in the restaurant. The manager told them that since that day was such a tragic yet happy day for them, dinner was on him.

8. My father God bless him, always tries to buy my simpleton mother such extravagant gifts. I mentioned the ring before. He also has bought her an expensive piece of Waterford crystal. Dad would give mom the moon if she wanted or didn't want it, if he could.

9. My parents are avid OU fans..of course. They used to be season ticket holders all through the 70-80's what else were they gonna do, since they didn't have kids for 8 years?

10. My dad built and designed their underground house. With a little bit of help that is. The neighborhood knows who's house to go to during tornado season.

11. My parents are the most generous people I know. They would do anything for anybody...say like loaning money to poor newly married college kids, and maybe even letting them stay in their rent house practically rent free. Not that I would know anything about that.

12. They tolerate my children for weeks on end during the summer. That right there in it self is a nomination for sainthood.

13. Finally, my parents have an adoring loving understood relationship that may seem strange to others. They never were the big kissy huggie affectionate type. I think it's due to the times in which they were raised; as hugs and kisses with in the family just didn't happen. You just had to trust or be content with the understanding that you were loved because you were clothed and fed. When I married hubs the total opposite was true for him and his parents. Needless to say I had a realization that not every family was the same. I think surprisingly through hubs and the kids, the 'rents have really come around to their affections.

I'm Starting To Get That Overwhelming Feeling

Hubs has kind of set a date in his mind of my last day of work. Sept 5. That my friends is not very far away. This is not in stone by any means, just a throw it out there idea. Gulp.

Of course right now my mind is racing on the gazillion things I'm going to have to do. I've been pushing it in the back of my mind because, the denial I hear is lovely this time of year.

In order to organize my thoughts; I'm going to list it out. Pardon me as I may not sound coherent and this maybe be a bit rambly, but if I don't get all of these racing thought out of my head I will not sleep tonight. In other words a regular post here at WM247.

-Sept 5th -the kids will literally only be in school two weeks. Does that even seem sane? I'm supposed to go up to the school tomorrow and say: Hai! I is Gameboy's mom, nice to meet ya..Oh by the way he'll only be here a couple weeks..k thanx bu bai.

-Since hubs will be working..that's going to leave everything else up to me. Calling and making arrangements for everything. Have I mentioned that I don't like calling people and that hubs does all the calling of people? Just the thought of it has given me premature signs of a heart attack.

-Not only will I be handling the calling -changing the billing, notifying the land lords, and all those details in between, but I will also have to manage the whole move...we haven't even really looked at houses yet. That trip to Big D last weekend was kind of a bust on the house hunt thing.

-If we had our way we'd sell practically everything but personal stuff and just start all over. Easier said than done. Have I mentioned that were not big garage sale people? Yeah that makes things difficult.
-I'm thinking of renting one of those PODS that will deliver and pick up for you. Whatever fits in the POD goes, whatever doesn't is gotten rid of. I'm curious how much it costs for that? That way I could move stuff at my leisure or at least in a 2-3 week period.

-Hubs birthday is Friday..he's finally coming home. The rest of the clan arrives Saturday. My parents are bringing C's mom. This means I have to sorta clean up the house. This weekend is shot for any kind of move preparation.

-School starts Monday..I almost thought of just them staying in OK for another 2-3 weeks. Something tells me my mother would not approve.

-I don't think I could handle being alone that much longer if they did stay. While it has been bliss the last couple of days. I'm ready for the noise and hustle and bustle and hugs and philosophical questions.

-Did I mention I maybe spending a lot more time with these kids o mine, doing the home school thing once we're settled? Have I completely lost my mind? I have no plan at all on how I'm going to accomplish this. Luckily the Internet is an old friend. We may be wingin it the first few months years.

-Monday is also our first day in the new temp office. Any more changes happening this month need to stop right now. To much change makes my head asplode.

-Not only are the kids going to be nervous/excited for their first few days of school, but going to a new office is a bit nerve wracking too. What if I don't like the people I sit by or what if no one likes me?..wait what? just a joke folks..Ill be with the same bunch. In fact it's all wide open so we'll be like all one big happy family and maybe sing kum bi ya. Should be loads of fun the bonding we will have. From my understanding we won't be in cubicles. This makes me think of the call centers in India, where the people are literally right on top of each other or at least very close next to them.

-Did I mention this post may be a little incoherent? Don't say I never warned you.

-I can really tell that things are a bit lonely around here, when I start talking to the dog in different crazy voices and I actually think he understands me.

*Did you see what I did there? I made this a Thursday 13 and didn't tell you.*

Thursday 13 Songs Randomly Placed In My Head This Week

This is late but I don't care dang it, I've been working on this all week...
When I least expect it, a song can pop in my head out of no where. The song doesn't even have to be playing, just a random word or phrase can instantly set me to singing some variation of a song. My hubs loves to torture me and just start saying a phrase from a song, knowing good and well it will get in my head.

A list of 13 songs that have just randomly popped in my head this week. I'm actually afraid to do this list as I know one of these songs will get stuck...again

1. The Love Boat theme song-I kid you not. I woke up Tuesday morning getting in the shower with this song. Let's just say I had one of those moments. This is where my whole idea for T13 started.

2. White and Nerdy by Weird AL- If you haven't seen the video you should; if anything to see Donny Osmond get his groove thing on. The hilarity will ensue.

3. I Dont Want To Be Lonely Any More...by Mark Anthony -I honestly can't explain it

4. Electric Youth- Debbie..ahem I mean Deborah Gibson

5. A few random Catholic hymms that I probably haven't heard in years. I've always got one of those in my head.

6. While I'm mentioning songs of worship-Awesome God by Michael W Smith, this one also is a frequent singsong head stucker. I think of it as my mini way of praising him.

7. The Hair Brush Song-You know the one..don't even tell me you don't know.

8. Free Credit Report. com- Please tell me that this advertisement plays over and over where you live?

9. Summer Time by who else but NKOTB- I'm sorry... not really

10. Amazing Grace -I was calling a client and this was their ringtone. Yes I broke out and started singing it out loud..you know; where other people around me are working.

11. Some how some random bit of Eminiem got in my brain. I can't even tell you what song. It entered my brain out of the blue and left just that fast. I'm sure someone said one word and it got me started. That's all it takes.

12. I have to add White and Nerdy again. I've been keeping this list all week and this one comes back hundreds of times.

13. The Higgly Town Hero song -Please save me from my sanity!

Thursday 13-Posts In Draft

Since I'm on gag order about my vague thing happening, I'm drawing a blank on anything else remotely interesting to blog about. I went through my drafts to see what I have written and chickened out on posting. Starting from recent to really old here are some of the titles. You didn't think I would actually list all my drafts in one post did you? Just the titles and a little idea of what it's about. Aren't you excited? It's not like anyone is reading as their all heading to BlogHer.

Thursday 13 Neurotic Edition

I found this site called iamneurotic.com and could not stop reading these crazy people's neurotic issues. Sadly though, there were quite a few that I actually do. This lead me to think of all the crazy neurotic things that I do do. If you thought I was off my rocker before, now you'll probably really think I should be committed.

1. Left turns on busy intersections I've mentioned before..I'll go out of my way by just going right if I have to.

2. One from the site that I also do is when driving and turning at the same time as the person in front of me, after a couple of turns I do get paranoid they think I'm following them. Same thing if someone is behind me.

3. On long highway drives when I'm in a group with other cars, I feel like were friends in a weird way and get kind of sad when they turn off.

4. I have to wipe off the top of a pop can before opening it. I know repeat, I admit to my neursis..but coming up with 13 is hard work.

5. I used to have weird fears about escalators, thinking I'd get sucked in the crack at the bottom or top. I got over that and now feel I have to wait for just the right step before stepping on.

6. I'm deathly afraid some random stranger is going to come up to me and just start tickling me. This was really really bad when I was younger. It's more like the fear a teacher or leader type person was going to do this. I'm not quite as bad now, but I don't trust my husband as far as you can throw him, when he starts putting his hands near my waist or under my arms, I immediately move his hand. He's aware of this fear.

7. If I'm in deep thought or nervous about something I'll start pinching the side of my middle finger with my thumb and forefinger. I actually have a small callous there from it. (I'm pinching my finger as I'm typing this, trying to think of all my crazies.)

8. I used to have this way of reading things online where it was like I was reading to myself but I would be breathing what I'm reading and sometimes it would be outloud. I can't explain this one. I don't catch myself doing this to often.

9. I don't like odd numbers. The number 3 by itself is ok. I'm really this way with birthdays and street addresses. I'm always relieved when we have moved and our address ends with an even number. I always think it's like a bad omen to have an odd address number. Clearly I have issues.

10. The dishes have to be stacked a certain way in the dishwasher. I go batty when my mother loads my dishwasher, as she always does it so haphazardly.

11. Number 10 is the only thing where I feel "order" is important, anywhere else is pretty much ok. Must have dishes stacked right.

12. I do go crazy with paper clutter; I just want to throw it away and not deal with it. Since 99% of our bills are online, I can't stand the chaos of the mail and throw most of it away without even looking through it. I'll keep the bank stuff though.

13. I have to read a post that I've written over a dozen times before publishing it and then another dozen after hitting publish. Like this post right now, I've probably read twenty times before hitting publish.

Thursday 13-BossyBoy Edition

I missed BossyBoy's birthday edition last week. I'm really not sure why. I think it was because I couldn't think of 13 things and felt dumb leaving it at 10. So here's a mix of pics and facts.

I promised more birthday stuff on Bossyboy. Sadly there's not much to report. It's a good thing that he doesn't make a big deal about presents (cause we haven't done that yet) like the big boys do. I do have 13 things about him to fascinate you. A promise is a promise you know.

1. When Bossyboy was born, he came out not a happy camper. He cried and cried all the way through doing his tests and getting cleaned and all the way to the nursery, as they were closing me up. My mom said he remained crying in the nursery. Poor little guy, probably just wanted his mommy. We determined from that point that he probably was going to have an attitude and so far have not been wrong.

2. Hubs and I do not have Texas accents much less an Okie one. At least not a predominant one. The other boys do not have any kind of obvious accent either. Bossyboy, born and bred Texan has the strongest Texan accent I've ever heard from a 4 year old. I love to hear him say "Green Eggs and Hayam" cracks me up everytime.

3. BB used to be able to flip his tongue sideways when he was a baby. I can't get him to do it now as he probably doesn't get what I'm asking, since I don't have that talent to show him what I want him to do.

4. He really believes that he's a big boy like his brothers and should be going to big kid school. He got so mad at me on his birthday as he thought since he was 4 and "bigger" he could now go to big kid school all by himself.

5. He still asks if he can "hold me" his way of saying hey mom, I'm lazy and don't want to walk so carry me. Sometimes I can't resist. Who wouldn't want to be held even at 30?

6. Mondays and Fridays are always his red days at daycare. This means he was not a very good boy. I get that. I'm not very productive those days either.

7. My baby is starting Pre-K this fall. This freaks me out a little.

8. He requests I leave the light on every night when going to bed. He says "he can't see" Somehow he's missing the point.

9. He can't stand tags on his shirts. Every shirt has to have the tag ripped out or ones bought that don't have them. Fascinating stuff isn't it?

10. A couple of Bday Pics

11.I'm always told he looks like a mini me of Gameboy. Gameboy at age 1 1/2

Yep I think hes a Mini

12. He loves him some sweets. Last year at Easter he dug into all of the Easter eggs and ate just about every piece of candy in all the boy's baskets. His brothers we're none to pleased. He's asking right this very minute for a "special treat" just because.

13. C thinks I spoil him...I don't think I do, but he is my baby and probably my last.
