Best Of Meme

Jen is my Meme savior and found this Best of Meme. I needed something today to give me something "else" to blog about.

Best place online to waste time: If your not including blogs, facebook and twitter then my next time waster is Pogo Remember I have no T.V. life and the internet is my only form of entertainment. L oo hoo seer

Best online purchase I’ve made recently: I haven't purchased anything online here recently but will say that my stand mixer from Kohls rocks and I did order it online .

Best place to go when your husband gets home from work and you need a break: Let's see, since this never happens, the place I probably go is Hobby Lobby or the Dollar Tree. Their just down the street and 2 of my favorite stores.

Best reason to invite someone over to your house for dinner: Since this never happens either. Can you tell were hermits? The best reason would simply be that Someones coming to dinner! Now what the heck do I cook?

Best thing my son has said recently: I actually went through my tweets because that's how I document the funny things the kids say. I could never burden the blog with to many kid quotes, it could get out of hand real quick. Bossy Boy told me to wait for him to do something for 400 years and to start counting now.

Best place to eat out with kids: I'd have to say anyplace that has a play land and if we are kicking it up a notch, a kids menu with coloring sheets. Texas Roadhouse always had kids eat free on Tuesday's and would have people coming around making balloon animals and some dude in a Armadillo costume walk around. That was always a hit.

Best news I’ve gotten recently: I guess you could say this bloggy meet invite tonight is pretty great. I'm not sure if you would call it news. Besides that Gameboy came home with a much improved report card. He's still got work to go but he's getting there.

Best way to show you care: I organized the hubs sock drawer/underwear drawer and his shorts and shirts drawer. He was thrilled. I was fufilling his love language, I guess. :)

Best reason to blog: Meeting the greatest people on the planet and doing it in my jammies. Also getting all of the random out of my head.

Best way to end a blog post: I'd have to say with just me ending it already. :)

25 and Random

I'm headed to the great state of OK this afternoon. I figure I would leave you with my 25 things about me list from Face Book. Thanks Jen for making me do a full 25 list or should I thank the Washington Post?

1. I figured I should do this since everyone else has, even though I've done it before. I'll try to think of something new. Yes I totally used number 1 to say that.

2. I've lived in Texas for almost 10 years and still don't claim myself to be Texan. I'm an Okie through and through.

3. I hate peas.

4. I hate being tickled. I will go momma ninja on you if you try.

5. When I was pregnant with the 3rd boy and the ultra sound tech first told us it was a boy. I didn't believe her and actually questioned someone of 15 years experience. Even when it was clearly obvious. The odds of having a boy are still 50/50 no matter how many boys you already have.

6. I have been playing fantasy football for 7 or 8 years. Yes I'm addicted.

7. When I die I want to be cremated and my ashes thrown in the Red River..I figure since OK and Texas are my home, I'd just split it down the middle.

8. Last year was my 10 year wedding anniversary. The hubs and I flew to Vegas and were supposed to renew our vows with Elvis but the hubs chickened out. I won't let him forget that. If you asked him he'd have a completely different story. Don't they always?

9. I still haven't figured out what I want to be when I grow up.

10. I have busted a glass pickle jar with a hammer simply because I couldn't get the jar open. In fact I just did this last week.

11. I am a Dr. Pepper fan. I should be an honorary stock holder.

12. I've never had a car payment. We've always bought our cars in cash, used of course.

13. I have never been pulled over and gotten a ticket or a warning. I did get pulled over for the first time a couple of weeks ago only to find out the officer did so mistakenly. He thought my tag was out when it wasn't.

14. I have been medi flighted due to pre natal issues. My middle son has been medi flighted 3 times when he was a baby. Being born 3 months premature causes that.

15. I'm scared to death of the dentist. To many bad experiences when I was little.

16. My father has met the original Pistol Pete. I know this has nothing to do with me but that's way more interesting than what I've got left.

17. I am a momma blogger fear my wrath...not really.

18. I'm obviously not a very exciting interesting person.

19. The 1999 OK tornadoes changed our lives surprisingly for "good". It helped the hubs get a job working with insurance companies that then got him a job in Texas which he worked at for 9 years and eventually I also began working for the same company too.

20. My dog is like my 4th kid. I used to never be a big dog person until this dog claimed me as his. I hate to even admit that I would probably dress him in doggy clothes if I could. I settle for a bandanna for every season instead.

21. In a former lifetime my mother was a nun.

22. I get really freaked out around birds, especially those in flocks. It's not because I'm afraid they will peck my eyeballs out but more that they will crap on me. 9 times out of 10 they have.

23. I've driven from one side of Texas to the other and then back, and lived to tell about it. It's not a drive for the faint of heart.

24. I believe myself to be a connoisseur of the fast food fried cheesecake.

25. My mother in law bought my sons Guitar Hero 3 last year for Christmas and I'm the only one that rocks on it. Yes I plan to go on tour soon. I'm still just waiting for that record deal.

Way more than you ever cared to know about me. I won't tag because surely you've been tagged already ten fold. Besides I was never good at tag.

I Hate To Give You A Meme Every Day But...

It looks like it's come to that. I'd like to think that my life was so much more exciting when I was working but really I don't the excitement level has changed to much. I apologize. Like life, one can't expect a steak dinner every night or every other for that matter. Sometimes something out of the box is just as good.

This meme was a little bit different than the regular ipod shuffle memes. I have an mp3 player but it doesn't do the shuffle. So I'm using hubs player on his 'puter cause that's where all the songs are housed anyway. 98% of his music is our/my music. Oh I'll be the first to admit we are an odd bunch when it comes to music selection. I'm just warning you now.

Honesty Is The Best Policy

Jen @ mommablogsalot awarded me with a nifty honesty award. She always knows when I need good blog fodder.

Here's the gist:

* Write a post about the award, link back to the person who gave you the award.
* Nominate at least 7 other blogs.
* Add links to those blogs on your blog.
* Leave a message for the nominees on their blogs.
* Name 10 honest random things about yourself.

1. I hate talking on the phone or calling people. Sure I love to talk to someone who I haven't talked to in a million years and need to catch up. If you called me daily just to shoot the breeze, I may be slightly annoyed. I really really hate calling people, pizza deliveries, people that must be called like things about a bill, hate it hate it. It's like some adsurd anxiety that I get. I've gotten a lot better at both of these phone phobias lately. I think it had to do with the fact that my previous job involved 99% talking on the phone and by the end of the day I was to tired to do it after work.

2. I've never had a speeding ticket or been pulled over... ever. Of course I say that now and the town police will just be waiting for me. This town is high on the ticket giving list. The funny thing is my mom has been pulled over 3 times in just this last year (in her town not mine). For some reason it just cracks me up that the cops have been pulling over a little old lady. Lucky for her she got off with a warning all three times. I'm sure she pulled out the sweet naive old lady face. Go speed racer go!

3. I have never been out of the country. I have driven right by the Mexico border on our way to Vegas one year. Did I ever mention that it's a long freakin drive to Vegas? The longest of that was going from East Texas to West Texas.

4. I am not a germophobe. In fact I embrace our germ yielding friends...not really but you won't see me carrying around a bottle of hand sanitizer. I don't freak about actually sitting on a public toilet, unless someone missed their target. Has anyone ever heard of getting sick from your tush being on the toilet? Seriously? Your as* cheeks are probably cleaner than your hands. Yes I do wash my hands after every use. I said Im not a germaphobe, not a nasty toad. I do however detest a dirty public bathroom. Which I figure is normal. I used to have issues about going in public but nothing to do with dirty bathrooms.

5. I get motion sickness very easily. I get sick on boats where there is no tide. I get sick driving around the mountains. Yet I love to ride amusement park rides and don't get that sick.

6. I hate scary slasher horror movies. You won't ever see me watching SAW or any of those type movies. Psychological thrillers are ok, like "The I see dead people" movie. I can't think of the blasted name of that movie and am to lazy to look it up. I like those type, just not the zombie killer slasher horrors.

7. Since I'm talking movies... I took a nap during the fighting scenes of Return of King at the movie theater. The last movie of LOTR just bored me to pieces and it seemed like it was never going to end.

8. I do not know how to drive a standard and have no plans of really learning. Hubs tried to teach me a long time ago when he had a standard; we tried all day and I just could not get it.

9. I can count all the boyfriends I've ever had on one hand. I married young, so I blame the hubs. So yeah Jen you've probably kissed waaay more boys than I have. ;)

listing 10 of these is more challenging than one thinks...I'm trying to think up a real juicy one for 10...

10. I very rarely make my bed. Ok, I only make my bed when I change the sheets and blankets, once a week maybe? I figure I'm just going to get back in it anyway. Plus I hate when the sheets/blankets are pulled tightly over my feet and legs. I end up just ripping the tucks out anyway.

There you have it my honest to goodness random facts. I know you'll all sleep better tonight knowing the truth about me.
If you lasted this long than kudos to you!
Here's 7 honest to goodness bloggers who I am sure would love to participate. No pressure though cause playing tag is not my strong suit.
Heidi @ Mommy Doesn't Live Here Anymore
Krista @ Married Life
Lawanda @ Lovin Life
"The Mom" @ Out Numbered
Feather @ Yes It's My Real Name
KC @ Mindless Chatter of a Busy Mom

The Simple Woman's Day Book

FOR TODAY Dec 1st...
Outside my window... It's sunny but chili

I am thinking...I really need to get the day started and it's almost noon. At least I got some grocery shopping done.

I am thankful for...
A warm house and a full pantry.

From the learning rooms...Back to school and home preschool. No set plan as of yet, probably just stick with routine for today- worksheets, calendar time, and writing.

From the kitchen...Chicken fettuccine tonight, can't wait.

I am wearing... pants and a turtleneck sweater, It's finally fall in Texas.

I am creating... ideas for the Christmas card. I'm thinking of doing it myself this year instead of ordering photo cards online. We'll see how that goes.

I am going... I already went to the store and will pick up the big boys later.

I am reading... I haven't really started anything yet. I gave up on Edgar. I did check out The Master Butchers Singing Club. I've had it on my TBR pile forever and saw it and went ahead and grabbed it.

I am hoping... I get a lot of cleaning done this week to get the tree up before my parents come down on Friday. I also hope to get the second science project done by then too.
I am hearing... I'm hearing Scooby Doo. Tell me your not surprised.

Around the house... Scattered stuff from our homecoming. Bags half unpacked, shoes, coats, books. You name it.
One of my favorite things... Having a warm dog on my cold feet.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Cleaning, Science Projects, Christmas Tree, and a Office Christmas party.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing... Here's some pics of the boys playing in the leaves at Grandma's. These poor kids haven't seen trees in months!

F : Favorite Color: Purple has always been my fave color of choice. I'm not sure why, I just like it.

G : Greatest Accomplishment: 3 boys..what are the odds in that really? Are they pretty high, I'm guessing not.

H : Hometown: I've always wanted to know the definition of hometown. Does it mean the town you currently live in? The town you grew up in? The town you've lived most of your life in? Just curious.

I : Indulgences: food always comes to mind. A mini trip with out kids is always good too.

J : January or July: Mmmm...none are great choices for around here. January is pretty cold and I'm not a big fan of the cold. July is always hotter than blue blazes here. I'll go July as I know I'll just veg inside where it's cool.

Memes, Why Does It Always Have To Be Memes?

I know that what you guys are thinking... that this is a all memes all the time kind of blog. Jen made me do it. :)

I'm supposed to show off a picture of my living room where the blog magic happens. Where all those creative juices flow to give you a daily dose of my brilliance randomness. Then we're supposed to rattle 20 things about it. I'm going to admit right now that I don't have 20 listed, I was doing good to give you 16. I will however insert a few things that should be in this picture and are shockingly not.

I apologize that the numbers are not showing up great..just look for my lame attempt at arrows and go counter clockwise. Clear as mud?

Oh and if you were to stop by my house in this instance, this is what you would see on a every day basis. Only clean during the hours of 9PM and 6AM, stop then if you'd like.

1. This is where the magic happens. Yes my recliner. Sometimes I'm in the kitchen, depending on if I'm in the midst of cooking or helping with homework. It's all about the multi tasking.

2. My beverage cup. Sometimes if I'm really busy lazy, I can get one of 3 boys to fetch me more ice and D.P. You gotta teach these boys young, that it's not about the wife fetching for husband, it's about husband fetching for wife. A balance if you will.

3. That lifeless red thing on the couch is a stuffed dog. Moving on.

4. This would be Gameboy, doing what Gameboy does best gaming and putting off homework.

5. That would be my precious...my guitar (hero). I'm quite the rocker you know.

6. That's Wonderboy. To close to the television as usual.

7. This would be the obvious T.V. it's only used for playing video games and watching DVDS.

8. The pink wall that contrasts accentuates my living room furniture.

9. Our babysitter home entertainment Wii

10. Wii Wii's

11. Hubs puter. He also has a mess desktop behind me which I vowed to never let anyone see.

12. A throw pillow that goes lovely with my decor.

13. This would be the gateway to our lives...the Internet cord. Without this puppy all life seizes to exist. Technically we are on wireless now, I just haven't put the cord away. There is no phone jack in the living room. Odd?

14. That's the Boss aka Bossyboy.

15. You can barely see it but it's the library bag. To prove to you all that I do do other things besides blog all day.

16. This would be the front door upon which my hubs walked in during the middle of this post. Dinner was not ready and he was early. He loves to just come in on a surprise attack. No phone call saying hey honey, I left the office early, have dinner ready the instant I get home. Nope none of that. I'm sure he thinks this is all I do all day.

Some things you didn't see. Because seriously 20 things? I was stretching it at 16.

17. The faithful dog who is always under my feet near the recliner. He was at my side. We should have just named him Jeans shadow.

18. The hubs on his puter doing pretty much what I do.

19. Shoes scattered here and there. You see mine but there's normally a half dozen others.

20. Random things like hangers, dirty clothes that have been removed from one boy or the other and sock plops.

There you have it folks, more than you ever wanted to know about that magical place my blogging mecca. If you'd also like to let the Internet know more about your blog space than they ever wanted to know, please have at it, cause I know that I want to know.

How About A Meme?

1. My uncle once: I have a ton of uncles which one? One had a brain tumor, some have fought in wars -Korea -Vietnam, others were farmers, one had schizophrenia.

2. Never in my life have I: Well I made a list a few months ago. You might remember.

3. When I was five my parents took me: I should say attempted to take me to the circus and my dad forgot the tickets and didn't realize it until we got all the way there. I remember the ordeal about forgetting the tickets and the circus, but not actually arriving there. My mom who stayed home with my new born sister even called the police to see if they could find our vehicle to track us down in getting the tickets. They didn't find us. To this day I'm the most paranoid OCD person when it comes to having tickets and checking that I have them a zillion times. This goes with boarding passes when flying, and my debit/credit card as well.

4. High school was: ok, it had its great times and bad times. I probably wouldn't want to go back, unless I could just start all over from kindergarten again. Funny thing about high school, I constantly have dreams about people I went to school with or I dream that I'm in school still. I will wake up from the dreams where I've been to school and am convinced that I am still in school and have to get up and get ready. It takes a good 5 minutes to come back to reality. Kind of freaky.

5. I will never forget to: tell my hubs and kids I love them every day.

6. Once I met: Governor Perry of Texas. He was the grand marshall of the parade in East Texas and Gameboy was in Cub Scouts at the time and he was going around and shaking hands with the boy scouts and also shook mine. Somehow his handshake did not give him a good impression. I've also met Adam West (the original Batman) sorta. I was dragged to one of those Sci Fi conventions and stood in line to pay him twenty bucks to sign his autograph. I wasn't impressed with him either.

7. There’s this boy I know: Who works really hard every day to prove himself as he is the new kid on the office block. He's having his ups and downs, but I'm convinced he can prove them on the ups.

8. Once, at a bar, I: had a drink or two and tried playing pool and didnt quite have a hold of my stick right and it slid right up and out my hand and went flying. The cover band in the bar even laughed while they were playing and made a comment about it. Can we say embarrassing moment?

9. By noon, I’m: done with the pre-school thing, finished my morning round of blog reading, and ready for lunch.

10. Last night I: Played monopoly online with hubs and like always he kicked my butt.

11. If only I had: some kind of idea what the next few months will hold.

12. Next time I go to church: I will thank the Lord for all my blessings and shoot up a prayer or five.

13. What worries me most is that I: Worry to much on things I can't control and worry not enough on the things I can.

14. When I turn my head left I see: My Bossyboy playing with his army men.

15. When I turn my head right I see: A wall and the lamp.

16. You know I’m lying when I: Get a bit red faced and divert my eyes. Hubs can always tell.

17. What I miss most about the Eighties is: Eighties music and eighties movies.

18. If I were a character in Shakespeare I’d be: mmm..I'm trying to think of a female in Shakepeare who didn't die of a tragedy or get mixed up in some kind of romantic mess of marrying someone they shouldn't. I'm drawing a blank at the moment. Does it have to be a woman? I mean men played women at that time, it's only fair we can play a man..or does that sound weird? Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were pretty witty blokes so I might want to be one of them, just to have witty banter and be assured I won't die tragically.

19. By this time next year I will: be 32 and Lord knows what I'll be doing. Hopefully engrossed in volunteering at the kids school or attending school myself. We'll see.

20. A better name for me would be: Mother of the Year -with my tiarra and roses. We can't all be beauty queens so why not the next best thing. ;)

21. I have a hard time understanding: Why practically every major highway this side of Texas is a tollway. Can't get anywhere through Big D without paying for it. I35 is pretty much the only free road for now.

22. If I ever go back to school, I’ll: get that bachelors gosh dang it.

23. You know I like you if I: am not overly quiet/shy around you and feel comfy telling you just about anything. This goes with my blog peeps too.

24. If I ever won an award, the first person I would thank would be: Would have to be the hubs cause I'm sure without his support it would never be possible...of course depending on what the award is.

25. Take my advice, never: Feed Gizmo after midnight.

I totally stole this from Quirky at Quirky Is A Compliment.

I Love Being Tagged!

...tagged at Memes that is.
Jen at MommaBlogsALot tagged me.

8 favorite TV shows

1. Seinfeld
2. Mad About You
3. The Office- both British and American
4. E.R. I haven't watched since early college but I still have to list it as a fave..either that or my mind is just completely blanking out.
5. Mythbusters
6. Dirty Jobs (Im a Discovery Channel junkie)
7. House
8. Throw in a dash of reality with Amazing Race

8 Favorite Restaurants
I haven't gotten a chance to really explore new restaurants around town. We're not into the chain type restaurants except for a slim few. I'm listing some of old faves from old town.

1. Mercardos..basically anything Tex-Mex
2. If I'm craving good old fashioned chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes, I go to Daniel Boones Bean & Burger.
3. Little Italy for Italian
5. Vaughn's for catfish..
6. Texas Roadhouse (thanks Jen I might have forgotten that one)
7. Braums if I want a good fast food burger and a real cherry lime aide. Not like Sonic who uses Sprite instead of Soda water. I do love Sonic don't get me wrong.

When we moved into town the first thing I scoped out was if there was a Braums, Sonic and Tex Mex restaurants nearby, so far all 3 are with in 10 miles.
8. Spring Creek BBQ -This one is also in the metroplex but not nearby.

8 things that happened yesterday-
1. Took the boys to school
2. Crashed out on the couch to recover from the concert..no I wasn't drinking I'm just old.
3. Did some form of pre-school activity. Yesterday it was writing B's and 2's and doing some activity sheets.
4. Picked up boys from school
5. Drove all over the county trying to find the tax office to get hubs mid life crises car's title transferred. -Never did find it..Google gave me confusing directions and took me to a road that literally ended. Just a random note: I did find the place today and I put the title in my name as hubs forgot to sign all the stuff on the back. Tee Hee. He's gonna love me for that.
6. Stopped at Sonic to re gather my strength.
7. Fixed dinner-steak which was a little to rare to my liking and rice.
8. Actually went to bed at a little after 9. Something I never do.

8 things to look forward to
1. Trash day- it really and truly does not take much for me.
2. Thanksgiving
3. The drive to Thanksgiving, which should only take 2 and half hours not counting potty breaks, something that's been unfathomable the last 9 years.
4. The boys first real snow at home..after that I'm good for the snow..I'm not looking forward to dealing with it all the time. Just in case you guys think I'm some kind of snow freak.

The Simple Womans Day Book

Outside my window... it's actually been kind of a overcast day. Now it's dark and so very quiet. Our old house was near a busy highway and it constantly was streaming with cars whizzing by.

I am thinking... That I still have a lot of un packing to do. I'm also trying to decide if I should break open the knick knack stuff for the living room and that this mauve color on the walls is actually growing on me.

I am thankful for... our new home and hubs awesome new job and the blessing of being home for a change with my boys.

From the kitchen... I made Barb's meatloaf with scalloped potatoes and green beans. The boys loved the meatloaf which was shocking as they always make random jokes about meatloaf and never really eat it. The kitchen for the most part is clean except for a dish or two soaking.

I am wearing... My pajamas finally, it's been a busy day even for just being home. I'm constantly trying to keep the house under control.

I am creating... We made haunted trees today as part of a little "preschool" project about fall. I'm kind of flying by the seat of my pants at this point. Tomorrow I will get more time with Bossyboy as the big boys officially start their new school tomorrow.

I am reading... "was" reading Anne of Avonlea. I meant to add the series to the Fall Reading Challenge and forgot. I grabbed the abridged version that has Gables, Avonlea, and House of Dreams. Big Mistake. I forgot how much they mess up the whole story. I stopped after finishing Avonlea. Pfft on abridged books. I will start up on Twilight very soon now.

I am hoping... the boys do ok on their first day.

I am hearing... a dog barking in the distance, hubs and I clicking and typing on the 'puter, other than that dead silence. No T.V. still.

Around the house... I'm slowly getting things put away here and there. I'm the most ADD person there is when it comes to un packing and doing things around the house. I literally start into something and have to go into the next room and dive into something else. I then come back 15, 30, 45 minutes later to finish up whatever else it was I was doing. I may have done ten other things in that time frame.

One of my favorite things... finding new little things I enjoy about the new house. Like discovering the little gnome among our shrubs in the front yard.

A few plans for the rest of the week... More preschool activities. A trip to check out the new library for early readers day. Maybe making some home made applesauce in the crock pot.

Here is a picture I am sharing:How about a sneak peek of my kitchen? You'll get to see the full thing very soon. Promise!

FOR TODAY....

Monday Meme

A Monday meme is all my brain can really handle right now; besides I believe the blog reading public has a right to know the answers to these pressing questions.

1. Where do you fold your laundry? I fold right as I take them out of the dryer into the laundry basket. So the problem with laundry is not the folding part but indeed the putting away. My dream house will have a laundry room steps away from the bedrooms. I hate hate lugging baskets up and down the stairs. I don't know why this isn't a no brainer when building houses. Probably because men are mainly the ones building houses...ahem
I will say that the new house's laundry room will be much closer to the bedrooms..at least I think so.

2. Must you be sure the dishes are washed before you go to bed each night? The problem is no amount of dishes will ever be done in my house, even after I go to bed. My hubs is a night owl and therefore a night owl must have second dinner. The dishes are never done man.

3. Do you use caller id to screen your calls? Always. If I don't know the number, 9 times out of 10 it won't be answered. It's a pain in the butt to stop everything I'm doing to find the phone to check the ID, only to find it's a Unknown number.

4. Do you let the low fuel light come on in your car before you fill up? No,I'm way to paranoid. A little less than a quarter of a tank is way past my comfort zone. I'm curious if anyone out there in blog land is having issues with the gas shortage? So far no problems here..knock on wood.

5. Are you a registered voter? Yes and here's my dilemma; the cut off for registration is the 6th. That's Monday. This could be quite a challenge as I will just be freshly moved in a town I have no clue where anything is, much less where the drivers license place/voter registration place is. Something tells me I may miss the vote for the first time ever. Thing is I'm so on the fence so much that it may be best just to let it go this time. I did want it to be a teaching tool for the boys though.

6. Breakfast for dinner is one thing, but can you eat dinner for breakfast? I've had pizza for breakfast before. I don't see sitting down and eating chicken fried steak, potatoes and green beans for breakfast. That's a bit to heavy for me for breakfast.

7. Do you click on the ads you see on people’s blogs? Only on accident. Sorry guys!

8. Do you just want to yell at smokers who are clearly standing within 50ft of the door at a restaurant? It's annoying yes..but 50 feet that's still quite a ways away, it's not like I'm going to be hanging around to long to be overly bothered.

...I can't leave this Meme at 8 so I added in a few others from another Meme. Obviously I have issues Thanks Jen for the help ;0...

9. What did you have for breakfast today? I had toast and jelly. We are scraping the bottom of the food barrel at WM247. I haven't done a full grocery shop in a month. I'm trying to keep it that way until we get moved. I have no clue what will be for breakfast tomorrow as I have no bread, no cereal, milk, and the malt o meal is boxed away. I'm thinking maybe Ramen...that I have plenty of :(.

10. What about your life today would surprise your teenage self? That's a pretty deep one. I think the biggest thing would be that I live so far from my family and friends. I always just assumed I'd live close. Everything else I don't believe I'd be to overly shocked about. I used to write future letters to myself in my journal. It certainly helps to jog the ol memory on the little things I've done as a teen.

Dream Date

Jen E at Daily MisMash found this fun little time waster site called Polyvore where you can create a collage of just about anything. She decided to do a fun little meme with it and challenged me to do a dream date collage with details of my dream date.

She must have known I was low on fodder.

My dream date would not include Ryan Gosling as he's already taken by Jen. ;) So I would have to go with the next best thing and that is the hubs.
We would start off by heading to the mall after dropping the kids off somewhere. Hubs has just surprised me with a spur of the moment trip. We pick up a cute little black dress and shoes for our romantic date and new everything else for our trip. Then we would head to the airport to some beach somewhere.
Hubs would already have our spa appointment set up. Where of course we would have the best massage ever right out on the beach.
Once we were relaxed and feeling like jello, it would be time to get dressed for dinner. Of course for the first time ever in my life my hair and makeup would look totally fabulous and my new little black (size 2 of course) dress would fit perfectly.
Our hot air balloon would be awaiting to take us to a vacated part of the island where our romantic dinner would be hot and ready. Our meal would consist of calamari for appetizer, the greatest Italian food ever and of course we would over indulge. After dinner dessert would be the greatest turtle cheesecake in the world and I would of course have plenty of room to eat it all.
As we finish dinner we would be serenaded by the best Elvis impersonator, this side of the western hemisphere. He of course would be licensed to finally renew our vows in a little chapel nearby, since we didn't get to it in Vegas.
If all went perfectly we would be whisked back to our hotel room via hot air of course and before crashing out we would eat chocolate strawberries and drink champagne all while watching chick flicks.

Join in on the fun if you have nothing else to do and let me know.

Meme Stealer

I thought I'd give you guys a break from Vegas and go all out with a Meme that I stole from MP.
You know the rules..answer the questions..and tag your it...yada yada yada...

Where were you 10 years ago? Just married to my sweetheart and getting settled in my parents rent house. Love that house, it was my childhood house up til I was 6. I probably was about to start up summer school as well.

-Anything sweet really, pie..cake..it really is all good.

-White Cheddar Popcorn if I ever have any.

5 things I would do if a billionaire:

-Buy a house, which I'd probably get a darn good deal now a days

-Pay off bills of ours, our parents, and a close friend of ours.

-Go back to College..one must always have a backup plan.

-Put away for the boys college.

-Maid service for the rest of my life.

5 Places I've lived:

-Oklahoma

-East Texas (House 1)

-East Texas (House 2)

-East Texas (Apartment 1)

-East Texas (House 3 and 4)

Finally 5 Guilty Pleasures:

-Eating oreos with out sharing

-NKOTB

6 Words

MP is going to Aruba like at 3AM and yet still had time to tag me for a Meme. This one is pretty easy as it's to describe yourself in 6 words.

Tired, Hormonal, Crampy, Cranky, Overworked, Underpaid

Well she didn't say it had to be deep or life revealing, just plain old honest truth of how I feel about myself right now.

Movie Meme

I thought I'd do this fun movie Meme. Play along and try to guess my top 10 favorite movies, then go ahead and do it yourself. Let me know if you play, though I admit I'm horrble at movie quotes unless it's blatant obvious. I still think it's fun. I have to admit I have an odd random taste for movies and these movies are ones that I can watch over and over.
**Updated** I changed the last one as it was just one I thought of as I couldn't think of anothr ultimate favorie, and of course as I went to bed last night it hit me.*
*Thanks everyone for playing, and leave it to an old friend from highschool to get the first one. *

1. Pick 10 of your favorite movies.

2. Go to IMDb and find a quote from each movie.

3. Post them here for everyone to guess (if you know them all, please don't guess every one)

4. Strike it out when someone guesses correctly, and put who guessed it and the movie.

5. No Googling or IMDb-ing. That's cheating, and that's no fun!
Here are my quotes:

1.-Excuse me, I believe you have my stapler
*Here's a hint on this one..maybe "I'm going to need you to come in on Saturday, and possibly on Sunday. Yeah that would be grrreaatt."* Feather-Office Space We quote this movie all day at work.
2.-Maria, these walls were not meant to shut out problems. You have to face them. You have to live the life you were born to live. Krista and KC got this one "Sound of Music"

3.-I'm not crazy, I've just been a very bad mood for the last 40 years! Jennifer aka Binky B "Steel Magnolias"

4.-I do believe Marsellus Wallace, my husband, your boss, told you to take ME out and do WHATEVER I WANTED. Now I wanna dance, I wanna win. I want that trophy, so dance good MP -Pulp Fiction

5.- To the top of Mount Wanna-hock-a-loogie! Lawanda- Finding Nemo

6.- Here we are, 17 Cherry Tree Lane, home of George Banks, Esquire KC-"Mary Poppins" (I know to easy)

7.-Hey, Cameron. You realize if we played by the rules right now we'd be in gym? DebMomof3Girls "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"

8.-We're gonna go inside, we're gonna go outside, inside and outside. We're gonna get 'em on the run boys and once we get 'em on the run we're gonna keep 'em on the run. And then we're gonna go go go go go go and we're not gonna stop til we get across that goalline. This is a team they say is... is good, well I think we're better than them. They can't lick us, so what do you say men? *Hint for this one... Notre Dame Football* This one was RUDY...gotta love a good underdog story.

9.- Peachy keen, jellybean. KC-"Grease"

10.-Why don't you love me Jenny? I'd make you a good husband. Lawanda- Forrest Gump

A Meme for Me

MP tagged me for Meme and lord knows I need something a little bit lighter after last night's post. It's kind of embarrassing leaving a comment on someones blog and it linking the post you made where you were a bit hormonal. A lizard biting someone? That would attract my attention.
Here we go 5 Random/Weird things about me.

1. I have to wipe the top of my pop can before drinking it, even if pouring it into a cup.

2. I love calamari but rarely eat the tentacles. For those who don't know what calamari is, it's squid fried and it's awesome when done right, minus tentacles.

3. I can't stand the flavor of artificial orange in candy or drinks. I can remember exactly the reason why. Once upon a time many moons ago when TG&Y was around. My mother would make her weekly jonts, long before WalMart made it big. Normally I wasn't a big candy eater, I didn't ask for it very often. I did however love Garfield at the time. When I feasted my eyes on a Garfield sucker at TG&Y, I knew I had to have it. My mother obliged. I took one lick of that sucker and it was the nastiest tasting orange flavored sucker I have ever tasted. It took what seemed like hours to get that taste out of my mouth. Weeks and days after that, the taste would randomly occur in my mouth. Needless to say homegirl don't do the orange.

4. If there were ever a drastic situation where my job alone depended on feeding my kids and family and providing good health benefits and what not and I had lost this current job, I would apply to be a car sales person. Now you might think ok that's weird but you gotta do what you gotta do. Thing is I couldn't sell fresh water to a shipwrecked person lost at sea. I'm just not that big in sales. I've even declined a sales position at my current company. I have no idea why I would be drawn to selling cars, I guess I figure it would be better than working at Wally world. When I told hubs this he thought that was definitely the most weirdest random thing he had heard.

5. I have a fear to all things aviary (birds). They freak me out as I've probably mentioned before. When we were at the beach on vacation last year and hubs and the boys were feeding a flock of sea rats seagulls, I took cover under C for protection and the dang things still some how managed to get poo on me. It's all about them dive bombing me with poo. I am somehow always the target even within a large crowd of people. If the lottery was chosen by a bird pooping on you in a crowded room, I'd win every time.

5 Random Places You'd Like To See Again. I'm not quite the world traveler like MP so mine is all with in the Continental United States.

1. Hands down Pensacola Fl as number 1. We went there right after they got hit with a hurricane a few years ago despite the destruction, the sand and ocean was perfect.

2. Tennessee, I thought the rolling hills were beautiful and it just seemed like a great place to live. Hubs and I both thought if we ever had to choose to move some where else that TN would be awesome.

3. Las Vegas Baby..hopefully were headed that way in May.

4. NYC I'd love to catch a Broadway show and do more sight seeing than we did last time.

5. Washington DC, we drove on through and didn't have time stop and sight see. Hubs has never taken the tour like I have.

I'm not tagging anyone as I never follow the rules. Plus I made a whopper of a Meme and that's probably enough.

Tag I'm It-Book Meme

Thank goodness for MeMe's when all you have are random things to say and nothing profound to post.
All that's running through my brain right now are the multiplication tables. Sigh! Gameboy is struggling with them and he's got to have them down pat in 30 seconds. Which 20 problems in 30 seconds seems a bit off. Anyways on to the meme!

MP my new blog buddy tagged me for the book meme. I've seen it around but hadn't done it yet. Now is a very good time. Of course there's rules that I never follow, it's the good girl gone bad syndrome.

1. Pick up the nearest book. (of at least 123 pages)
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people

Peace Like A River By Leif Enger-I know your all growning, but it was this or a War of Warcraft book of my husbands. Yeah that one probably would have been really odd.
"If Marmee had begged Jo to go cut off her hair and sell it," Swede hypothesized, "I wonder how heroic a thing it would have been."
I didn't say anything. But I thought; Aw, crumb.

Now the tag part... I was never ever good at tag and would just let people tag me so I could be out. Needless to say go forth and be tagged.
