Gotta Have Your Wat-aah!

The kind people from the Drink Wat-aah Challenge, asked that I do a challenge on my boys to see if they would choose Wat-aah in the nifty bottle labeled BODY or would they choose the pesky convenience of over sugared juice and soft drinks.

I knew that my two youngest are not big water drinkers like they should be. I also knew that my oldest is always up for a challenge large or small or unusual. I placed the bottles in the fridge and when the boys came home from school and asked the age old question "I'm thirsty!" I was ready with a quick response of get something out of the fridge and then grabbed the camera.
The oldest saw the bottled water immediately and wanted to know what this curious water was that said BODY. If you raise boys yourself than you will know that when they see something of liquid and it's labeled Body, they instantly assume that body parts must be inside. Needless to say he had to jump on that. The other two not so much.

Gameboy thought the water tasted great body parts and all, but thought maybe there would actually be some kind of flavor to it.
The youngest tried a sip of his brother's and decided he didn't want his own.
I honestly didn't even try with Wonderboy as he literally gags at the sight of green beans much less "plain old water", lets just say he marches to his own drummer.
Gameboy did finish off both the Body and Brain formula's and I declare that a small success over choosing the high sugar alternative.

I think the idea of bottled water focused on kids is a great idea and with the added nutrients involved is bonus.

I May Not Need Regular T.V. After All

We're still in our "No Regular T.V. Hiatus" I admit I am going a little stir crazy. I was thinking about it the other day and we really had the T.V. on primarily for background noise. We never really had a regular night of actual must see T.V. viewing. The T.V. would mindlessly be on and we would flip around forever until we landed on a random show that we both would agree to watch. I really don't think we've missed to much.
I was contacted by the nice people at Fancast to review their site which houses a nice varied selection of shows to watch online. Here's a little blurb about their site:
On Fancast.com consumers get instant access to the best TV, movie and entertainment information available, including free full length videos from top networks and movie studios. Fancast houses more than 4,500 hours of streaming free full length content, and more than 5,600 episodes from more than 100 video providers including top networks and movie studios. In addition, Fancast offers a download store for consumers to rent or purchase movie and television content.

I was impressed with the wide selection of T.V. shows from old to new. Anything from Adams Family to The Office they had. I was actually surprised they had this season's Office ready to watch. I was able to get caught up on what I've missed. I'm also looking forward to checking out shows that I haven't seen yet, like Samantha Who.
Your profile allows you to build a favorites library and it gives you a schedule overview of what new episodes are added. I also liked that they had the latest "buzz news" of popular entertainment clips, like the latest SNL Weekend Update skit. They also listed certain categories that may be of interest for the current time, such as scary movies for Halloween.
The commercial interruption was minimal and quick, which I appreciated, yet understand that someone's gotta pay for my free viewing.
The few disappointments I had, was the movie selection wasn't as great as it could be, but I also think most people are into online viewing more for T.V. shows than for movies. One thing that did throw me off, was they had a listing for Juno in the movies category and I was ready to settle in to watch Juno; when come to find out it was a behind the scenes thing and not the full movie. I think it should have been listed under the Movie Trailers or Clips category. That's just my humble suggestion.
Overall I thought it was a good site for those of us who want to catch a quick T.V. show online and don't have access to actual T.V. (like me). I also think it's a great way to check out new shows that you aren't sure about but have heard good things about. I'm usually one of those skeptics who want to see it but doesn't want to get sucked in.

Check out Fancast, watch a few oldies but goodies and some newby shows. Then head over to their sweepstakes, where you can test out your T.V. trivia and possibly win some great prizes.

Olive Kids Drawer Knobs Review

I recently received the Olive Kids drawer knobs to check out. I was really excited to get them, as Gameboy's drawer knobs were getting loose and one was completely gone.

I was really impressed with the hand painted quality of these knobs. The knobs are made of a heavy duty ceramic, these aren't your cheapie knobs. These knobs are made to last. This is the set I got and just love. I hope to add to the theme soon.

Olive Kids not only has drawer knobs, they have a huge selection of children's bedroom accessories. They just about have any kind of kid theme you could think of and I don't mean commercialized themes. The "non-commercialization" is what I love about Olive Kids, along with the quality workmanship. I could browse their site for hours. They are constantly adding new items and have a wide price range depending on what your looking for.
Check out Olive Kids to find the perfect something to add that special touch to any kid's bedroom.

FlipPee Toilet Shield Review

Have you ever found a product that made you say; "Why didn't I think of that?" The FlipPee is one of those products.
Here is a blurb from FlipPee
-Protects your toilet, floor and walls from accidents
-FlipPee attaches to your toilet with premium suction cups and rotates down to store discreetly around the base.
-The drip lip feature stops any excess from hitting the floor when its flipped down.

Seeing as how I have 3 boys myself, I figured this product was something I would definitely need to try out. If it's going to help me reduce constantly cleaning around the toilet than I'm all for it.

The FlipPee is a plastic shield that suction cups around the basin of the toilet and should mold around any size or shaped toilet. When I first put it on I struggled a bit to get it perfectly around the toilet with out gaps, but since it is so easy to get on and off it really wasn't that difficult to retry until I got it. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow.

Here was my dilemma; it took long enough for my boys to get the hang of finally lifting the seat up to go. I was concerned that I would have to "re train" them to lift up yet another item in order to do their thing. I had them try and get the hang of it for a week or so. The thing is I didn't constantly watch them go..so I don't know how often they actually lifted it up. I did observe the 4 year old a few times, when I could, to see how much it did shield. It seemed to have worked pretty good; considering that he didn't miss aim to badly anyway.
I did notice that when I cleaned the bathroom after a few days that it didn't seem to be near as many mis-aims around the floor of the toilet. Which is always a good thing.
I think this product will be great for those little ones still training; which is what it seems to be targeted for.

If your interested in the FlipPee it's only sold at the FlipPee website for $24.95

Spa Sensials Review

The kind people at Spa Sensials sent me a wonderful hand and foot moisturizer kit to check out and review. My feet and hands need all the help they can get this time of year with the crazy Texas weather. It's just dry, dry, cold, hot, cold. These kind of conditions would dry out any appendage even with basic lotion.

I tried the foot moisturizer first as my feet are in dire need of moisture. You slip on these cute little hospital looking slippers and leave them on for a good 15 minutes. I could feel the lotions and aloes working my feet. It felt very good and soothing. Toward the end of the 15 minutes I massaged the slippers to give my feet that last boost of the lotions. I must say that when I removed the slippers, my feet felt very soft and just fresh feeling. Alot of the dried callous areas were much much softer than before. I was really surprised. The lotions didn't feel slippery or wet feeling after. It just felt rather soothing. I would recommend if you're a barefoot all the time person like me, you might want to do the slippers before going to bed, as after a little bit of walking around my feet picked up more dirt than usual from my floors and had to be dusted off a bit. Of course this could just be that my floors were in dire need of sweeping.
I tested out the gloves and had the same result. I just loved the fresh almost healing like feeling I got after removing them.
All in all this was a great little spa treat for a Working Momma and her dog tired dried out feet and hands. I would definitely recommend this product especially if you live in dry conditions or you just want to get that extra dose of moisture for those areas that lotion just doesn't do the trick on. A treat for your feet!

Christmas CD Review

mws banner

I'm one of those people that love Christmas music and usually as soon as the easy listening channel plays all Christmas all the time, I'm totally tuned in.
I got a chance to receive Michael W. Smith's newest CD It's A Wonderful Christmas and it was fantastic. I would probably listen to this CD year around as a lot of the music is relaxing instrumental that would be great any time of year. His first song is the most upbeat and joyous and then it mellows out with the soothing instrumental pieces. He also has a duet with Mandesa which is also fantastic.

This is the perfect CD to listen to after a long working day to unwind. I would highly recommend it. Thanks for Reunion Records for letting me check it out. Go and have a listen yourself!
