What Have I Gotten Myself Into This Time?

I've been debating in my head about taking the leap..the leap over to (whispers so Blogger can't hear me) that other blog hosting sight that rhymes with lord and tress.

I went ahead and signed up...I tried the other day but having a strong pina colada is not the time to dive into a whole new blog hosting site. Obviously some blogging angel knew this and denied me access of acknowledging the account until I was a little more sober. In other words my tipsy fingers put in the wrong e-mail address to allow confirmation. ahem...

I've been playing around with it. Yes I'm still Working Momma 247 there and it's pretty much mirrored what's here..very nifty little widgets and import stuff they have going. I am actually impressed with it until it gets to the template design editing. Sure they let me upload my header just as easy as Blogger but after that I'm lost. If I'm understanding correctly the template doesn't allow me to edit changes or publish changes in the CSS code unless I purchase the upgrade? mmm..me no likey that part.

As of right now I'm sticking around with Blogger. It's like a comfy sweatshirt..easy to maintain...comfy..cozy.. all that stuff that nice comfy blog hosting sites are meant for. I'm still taking a test drive in "lord tress" once I figure out all the bells and whistles and win the lottery, than maybe I'll steer you guys that way.

You Have Been Heard Internets

I have decided to go ahead and leave the names as they are. I totally understand the confusion on names and what not. I'm with ya, as I also sometimes have the same issues on other blogs with names.
I also have added the Crew to my sidebar. I did actually have this listing at one point in time and it disappeared due to my fiddlings with my template and I just never got around to re adding it. I'm sorry for not adding it back in and didn't realize what a handy little thing it is to have.

On this note, I'm off to run to the store for vegetable oil to make a birthday cake for a little big Bossyboy. My babys not such a baby anymore..sniff..

Blog Stuff

3 wonderful things have happened recently on the old blawg. It's funny that all these things happened in the same week.

1st was the awesome nomination of being a Rockin Blogger. Which of course Rocks!

2nd I finally won a give away! If you knew my addiction for bloggers give aways and the number of times I've entered a giveaway you would understand my excitement. Oh Target is so calling my name right now! I think she misses me as I have not visited her in so long. (Yes I can refer to Target as a she if I want to.) Thanks again Sarah.

3rd I actually got my first "negative" comment from a total stranger. Now most would be a little heart sick to know that there are sinister people out there in blog land who like to just leave random negative commentary. Maybe they get excitement from it I don't know, maybe their just asshats and don't mean it. I actually found it rather amusing that some dude would read a plain ol mom blog like mine and comment on something about my thankfullness to this country. God bless him he gets that freedom to comment about it, he should be thankful for that. Anyways John if your reading this thanks for stopping by. I agree with your opinion completely. Feel free to stop anytime, cause I'm cool like that and welcome your O.

Confession Time

Bless me father for I have sinned....wait it's not that kind of confession. Well Im sure Ive sinned, but I'm thinking the good lord will let me slide on this one.
What I'm trying to say is I'm not what I appear to be.
Let me clarify. I may sound all funny and witty and maybe even a little outgoing on the blog, but really and truly I'm not funny at all in real life. In fact I'm far from funny. I'm the quiet shy girl at the party hovered in the corner curled up in fetal position rocking back forth repeating to myself, there's no place like home there's no place like home.
I'm not one to be a social butterfly by any means. Just ask my friends. If I were to meet any of my new blog buddies (I hope your my buddies) in person I would probably have a nervous break down and would need some Zanex or booze or Zanex and booze, to settle me down.
Now I know you guys are the sweetest nicest Internets in the whole entire world. Your the best, you really know how to make a gal feel special, but I feel much more confident behind the curtain so to speak. I just know ya'll would probably be so disappointed to actually meet me. I also should admit that it's not like ya'll are knocking on my door to meet me. Cause ya'll are polite like that, which I appreciate cause the house is a mess and I'd have to ask you to leave or something.
Anyways I just wanted to forewarn you that this is all a fa sad and I just act and blog this way cause I can and because I am a little neurotic, and crazy, and sometimes a girl just has to get her crazies out.
I love you guys and love your oh so sweet comments. Where else could a girl go to read such sweet nothings spoken about her?

My Blog Story

Chilihead at Don't try this at home is doing a little carnival on why and how you started blogging. She gave a listing of questions to answer.

How did you start blogging? I actually just started blogging in March of this year. I was inspired by reading all these great mom blogs that were nominated for blog awards that I found from another website I frequented. I used to have a journal when I was young and it kind of fell by the wayside. Blogging seemed like a great way to jot down the junk rattleing in my brain and preserve some memories for me and the kids.

Did you intend to be a blog w/a following? If so, how did you go about it? I really don't have a flock or following..so please feel welcome to worship here at the house of workingmomma.

What do you hope to achieve or accomplish with your blog? Have you been successful? If not, do you have a plan to achieve those goals? I really just want to go with the flow right now and get better at writing. I would just be thrilled to have a faithful following of 5 or more. I think I still have plenty of time to get there once I get my little blog more exposed to the internet galaxy.

Has the focus of your blog changed since you started blogging? My focus is still the same-putting my thoughts and memories to words for someone else to read and hopefully enjoy.

What do you know now that you wish you'd known when you started? I'm still just getting started and have a lot to learn.

Do you make money with your blog? I would love to. I just haven't made that leap yet. I want to get a little bit more established and have a few more readers.

Does your immediate or extended family know about your blog? If so, do they read it? If not, why? My mother knows about it and does visit it when I send her the link. She's still just getting the hang of this new fangled thing called the internet. She's not a faithful reader that I know of ..she never comments. I don't think she's figured that part out yet. I do believe some small extended family knows about it but I'm not sure if they are frequent visitors. I just don't get that many comments to know.

What two pieces of advice would you give to a new blogger? I say when first starting out, post as often as you can to keep a faithful readership. Even if you have a small 2 person following like me; they could easily get distracted and forget about it if nothing recent has been posted. The second thing even if you think it's something lame and no one would care to read, it doesn't matter it's your blog. If you feel like writing about how funny it is when your kid says hairplane instead of airplane then do it. You should blog for yourself and not really for anyone else.

Thanks for stopping by...I think

Well I really did it. I actually told a few people about the blog. When I mean I actually told people, I mean I went to that other site, you know the one where you have your "own space". I posted a bulletin where all 30 something of my pals could read it. The thing is I send out 2 or 17 bulletins a day for just random mindless survey stuff. No one's actually supposed to read them, their just there to help waste some time at work. I get paid to wait around. If I could actually get paid for an 8 hour shift but only work the amount of time I actually work..well that would just rock!

Anyways as I was saying, so I told 30 something people and people actually read it. They then took the initiative and stopped by here. They stopped by and like read a post or 20. They stopped by and saw my scary kitchen! So now I'm quivering here in the corner going oh my what have I done? I kind of liked being in my own little world just jotting down my random thoughts. I felt safe..from what I'm not sure.

Thanks for stopping by my little pals...I think. I'm not sure what to say. I feel a little special like you really like me enough to waste some of your precious time to stop here. I will try my best or worst to entertain you. Please feel free to throw tomatoes if need be or leaving a comment would be fine to. I admit I'm not any kind of Pulitzer prize writing author. I have no English degree, so If my grammar and punctuation is bad, well I apologize (not really). -See that was probably a really bad sentence. I'm very sub-conscious about it, really I am.

I will just say for the record right now that I am not an organization diva. I do like to organize but am in no way a professional. The rest of my house is not quite as disastrous as the kitchen appeared to be. I am also not some kind of master chef that posts her weekly recipes. I just do it to keep my brain from being to scattered and it's fun to see what other ladies have posted for their menus. I also save money on groceries. It really does work. While I'm rattling off a few things I do around here, don't be afraid to stop by these other wonderful ladies sites on my sidebar. I highly recommend them as they are way better writers than I and quite humorous. Also 5minutesformom is just the awesome. You don't have to have a blog to enter in the fabulous mother's day prizes.
Thanks again for stopping by, I'm very humbled

Learning This Blog Thing

Since I'm literally just getting started on this-diving in as I've been saying. I owe a lot of thanks to the ladies at blogging basics for all their great tips and tutorials. So I'm giving my kudos where kudos are due. I was so proud to just add this pretty little graphic to my side bar with all that funky html stuff it can be a little overwhelming.
