The Simple Woman's Day Book

Aren't you glad I only do this on Mondays and not say, everyday?

Oustside My Window: It's nice and sunny but still really chili. The boys are itching to go to the park..me not so much.

I am hearing: Scooby Doo and a child that is bawking like a chicken. Don't ask, cause I have no idea.

I am thinking: My son is trying to find the cantaloupe (spell checker just asked me if I meant can't elope..made me giggle..why yes I needed help spelling cantaloupe) in a zip lock bag and brought out the packaged fish asking me if that was the cantaloupe. I worry about him sometimes.
I'm also gearing up for our visit to OK tomorrow. Thanking the good lord we actually have some kind of plans going this week, other wise it would be all Star Wars, all Scooby, all the time around here.
I also have to make appointments for Wonderboy to have eye surgery. This doc is adamant to do it and wants it done right away. It's about time we get this nipped in the bud.

I am thankful for: Being home with the boys during spring break and not worry about day care. I'm also greatful that I can go up to OK for a mini vacation.

I am wearing: Do you really care what I wear? No didn't think so and will tell you anyway. Brown capris and a pink shirt. I think the brown and pink ensemble looks really cute on babies...not so much on a 30 something woman.

I am hoping: To get a bunch of laundry done and the house clean before we get the heck out of dodge tomorrow. I also am hoping the hubs can try his best to keep it clean by Thursday. I won't hope to much on that one.

From The Kitchen;
Not to much to share on the kitchen front-
Monday: Chili hot dogs
Tuesday-Wednesday kitchen is closed
Thursday-Friday is kind of up in the air since it will be just me and hubs.
Saturday-Smothered steak
Sunday-Pepperoni Roll

I am reading: One Hundred Years of Solitude. I didn't know much about this book going in. I'm not sure what to think of it just yet. In it's own way it's kind of hard to follow and keep track of all the characters and their names. The names are foreign and complicated especially since some of the names are very similar. It seems to bring in a new character each chapter. The story is intriguing enough to keep me going but it is one of the harder reads I've done in a long time. It could be "the greatest American novel of all time" but it's not on my "great American novel" list yet.

I am creating: thoughts of getting some great material and sewing up some throw pillows for a great contrast color for all this blue in the living room-only in my head of course

Around the house:
Laundry
Straightening
Packing

One of my favorite things: Playing Apples to Apples with the boys. I think we've found a game all 3 boys really enjoy. That in itself is rarity.

A few plans for the rest of the week:
Trip to OK- hopefully a trip to the zoo while were there.
I hope to get some spring pics taken of the boys in my moms bloom a plenty yard.
When I get back for a few days of alone bliss, I hope to finish off my spring cleaning. I have actually crossed a few items off on my list. The kitchen and garage are the biggest tackle right now.
I also hope the hubs and I can get some birthday shopping done while the boys are away.

A Picture Thought:
I'm sorry to say I have no picture thought today. Can you believe I have not broken out the camera in almost a week?! I blame last week's weather.
I should make up for it this week.

I hope you have fun in OK this week - so jealous - and what do you mean brown and pink don't look good together, I was thinking that outfit sounded really cute!

I love Apples to Apples. I prefer the junior version because I can relate to the answer cards better! LOL

Good grief! You one busy lady, honey!
I love knowing there are people out there with actual plans and that they are setting about fulfilling them.
Me? Not so much... ;-)

Ooh, One Hundred Years of Solitude is my FAVORITE book. Well, one of my ten million favorite books anyway. I thought I wouldn't like it, but I did. I hope you enjoy it by the time you've finished it! =)

I bet you look fabulous. I still do pink and brown, and I am 30-something! Now I am self conscience. LOL

Be safe on your trip to OK. Thanks for your messages on my blog and Twitter. If you encounter fog, get off the highway FAST and wait it out. Lesson learned! You may be smart and a good driver, but other drivers can be stupid.
