Whatever You Do, Don't Read Page 34!

The book fair is going on this week. That means the boys are groveling for money to spend at the book fair. That means child labor is in full force for me. It's really a win win.
Anyways...
Gameboy has been obsessed with the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Series. It's basically this boy's journal written in a cartoonie form. I've read some of it and it's a typical how far can we go to gross young children out in literary form. Boys eat this stuff up.
The author of the book also created a journal (he doesn't call it a diary as that's a place to express your feelings..which is anti-boy) for boys to make their own cartoons and actually journal their life.
I really think this was an in genius idea. Game Boy has been furiously filling pages out and making cartoons and listing all his favorite and non favorite things. Then there's page 34. Supposedly page 34 is a listing of 5 or so things about himself that he does not want anyone else on the planet to know.
Yeah I'm so dying to know what he could possibly have to say that I don't know about him. He's always been really good about telling me his thoughts and stuff. I'm cherishing these moments now, cause it's certainly not going to last long.
He gave me very strict orders not to read page 34. I've read everything else he's written as he's shared it with me.
A person (I don't care who you are) can't blatantly tell me not to do something and expect me not to do it. I don't work that way. I don't like surprises and I don't like secrets when I know a secret is going on. Kind of like someone whispering in someone's ear right in front of you. I don't like that. You either share with the whole class or you wait until it's just you and that person. Me? Issues? Of course not..cough.
Needless to say I'm going crazy about this page 34 business. I'm sure it's something really silly and random (can't imagine where he'd get that from) and not at all a secret. Though I'm also one to completely respect one's privacy, especially when it comes to one's journal. So I'll just chew at the bit for awhile and wait until he's 18 or 20 and sneak a peak when we can both laugh at it together..that or wait until he's in school tomorrow and read the first one to tide me over.

lmao that is too cute. Those books look really fun to me, but I haven't read them yet. I'd totally get them for MM someday though. I'd also totally cave and read page 34. But you don't have to be like me, you can have willpower.

Griff loves the Wimpy Kid books but wouldn't write in the journal.

Okay, that is soooo funny. I am dying to know myself! You definitely have more willpower than I do. It's so great that he is doing that. What a good thing to teach your children!
